Success is something you should be proud of, but to use BTL portfolio as a way to get there is not something I would be proud of. You should consider the social impact you are having, and realise that being a BTL landlord is hurting alot of peopleI am not a financial expert, and the post above is merely my opinion.:j0 -
Thanks mate,
I just feel for you mate and the many thousands of young people up and down the country who struggle to find jobs and have no real hope of owning their own home.
The thing is about BTL, a large proportion of the people who run the country have BTL portfolios so don't expect any help from the Government et al.
The thing they're overlooking with their little pension nest eggs is who do they think is going to buy them so that they can realise the equity? Certainly not your jobless youngsters who they enjoy deriding.
Keep the faith mate, I hope that things will improve for you soon.0 -

As you rank me below the social standing of a murderer I cannot really take what you are saying seriously. I definitely have not hurt anyone to the best of my knowledge - how many murderers can say that? The best way to escape a problem is to solve it :j0 -

Good points,
Things are good for me except for the housing situation to be honest! :jBut the getting a house is what we all aspire to, and its frustrating to not be able to see any progress on the issue

I didnt say your worse, I said I couldnt get on with a BTL LL. Hardly means I think you should all be locked up.
But I would just be so irritated talking to somone that seems so selfish that they dont care about anyone else.I am not a financial expert, and the post above is merely my opinion.:j0 -

Which bit of this particular rant makes any sense? Exactly how does being a landlord "hurt a lot of people"?
My daughter needed to live in several parts of the UK and move at frequent intervals before she was in a position to "setle down" and buy. Frankly, without commercial landlords to rent suitable (and mostly OK) houses from she'd have been totally broke having to buy and move buy and move. Thousands of people (young and old) are in a similar position.
The existence of some poor landlords does not justify this idiotic post.Under no circumstances may any part of my postings be used, quoted, repeated, transferred or published by any third party in ANY medium outside of this website without express written permission. Thank you.0 -

You honestly believe BTL landlords perform a social function?I am not a financial expert, and the post above is merely my opinion.:j0 -
Good evening B Blank
I understand your angst with the big btl landlords.
Thought you may like to read about Nicholas van Hoogstraten

Plenty more about his life via google. Back in the early 2000's I remember it being said on Newsnight that he owned 10,000 properties in the south east.
You may find him an interesting character. I did.

B Blank, nowhere in your rantings have you mentioned what you are doing to improve your housing situation.
All you have done is rant and show how immature you are.
Everyone I know who owns a property had to make real sacrifices to save up for a hefty deposit and continue to make sacrifices to keep the roof over their heads.
Why are you blaming everyone else for your situation?
Are you working? Did you overspend while at university? Are you living off your parents?
Why can't you save for a deposit like the rest of us?0
