I am in the process of saving up to redo ours as we spend 4k 1 yr ago and the fitter well and truly bodged it up wrong corner bath which is too big for the space.

basin on wrong wall tiling c**p and thats a good word and not finished as he done a runner.

So this time I am going to do it myself

Ill put some pics up tomorrow as it is a truly shocking job

Oh and I had to call an electrician out as he put a spot light over the shower and called another plumber out to make good the pipes to the bath as it leaked into the kitchen below

Get a decent planner, ask, investigate and find out what is new and available and always think ahead. Post the photo's up and a plan/layout of your bathroom oh and don't be afraid to move things around as my bathroom only has the one external wall.

Post up some photos so we can see the progress, what are you plans for the bathroom and what fixtures and fittings are you using?
We've only got a small bathroom (downstairs extension). We're both getting older & hubby's got big health problems and we've decided to do away with the bath & have shower enclosure. They're gutting bathroom completely. Replastering walls & ceiling, tiling floor & walls, new lights and fitting bathroom furniture. New loo with cistern enclosed & hand basin recessed into bathroom furniture(hope that makes sense). They're starting monday morning & know it's going to be chaos but know it's going to be worth all the mess.

Have you thought about a wet room, lights ipv6 I believe with their own heat shield, what loo are you going for with the recessed hand basin, any photos?
  • Today is the day I go and see what designs have been drawn up for my new bathroom! I'm so excited. We plan to have loo and oversized basin, lots if storage for toiletries and a wet area oversized walk in shower. No bath, just a huge lovely shower with seating and recesses for toiletries and a glass of wine!

Be aware that recesses can collect water which just sits there, you can get grooved tiles that disperse the water.

Too small for a wet room & hubby wasn't very keen. We bought our kitchen from Wickes a few years ago & we were so very pleased with the outcome that we went to them for the bathroom planning & fitting. We've got the very same team (asked for them especially) and they're starting work at 8.30am tomorrow morning. The loo is a push button one & very pleased the cistern will be out of sight. Have spent several hours clearing everything out of the bathroom & airing cupboard. Will attempt to post some photo's when completed. Dreading the chaos but very excited to be getting it done & we have great confidence in these guys.
