Have chosen some of my books and will add the rest as and when, have picked some that I feel I ought to have read, and others that are a treat to me.
Still reading The Count of Monet Cristo, when I picked it off the Big Read list I didn't know it's over 1100 pages long:rotfl:, and it took me a while to get into it but am quite enjoying it now, but will still take me a good week or more from now to finish.
I really enjoyed The Count of Monte Cristo, but yes it is very long!"If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0 -

Hi everyone!
I'm pleased to see the thread rolling out so well. Lots of very organised lists showing up and I love seeing everyones choice of author too. You are giving me some ideas.
Welcome Keggie
As you can see, some of us have a full list to go at, some of us are reading in an order that fits, basically, do whatever suits!
I assume you have read Harry Potter? My DD is 11 and is currently reading Treasure Island on schools instruction. She read Wind in the Willows before that. It really brought back some memories of books I read as a child. Did anyone read the "What Katie Did" series. I mentioned it to my daughter and she immediately said that she knew it was currently showing on ITV2  She was referring to Katie Price. I quickly put a ban on that one!ionahenor2 wrote: »Hi all. Had major computer troubles and had to format my hard drive in the end....lost all my bookmarks too as OH forgot to save them!!!

 Computer troubles! Did you fix it yourself? I wouldn't know where to start! How did you get on with Book of Tomorrow? I enjoyed it. I've never read a Ceclia Ahern before. I though it would sit nicely in the Teen section of the library but glad it didn't because I'd have missed out!clodagh_trubble wrote: »Good to see everyone carrying on with this, I'm really enjoying it and think I will carry on each year as it makes me pick varied authors.
D The Count of Monte Cristo - Alexander Dumas
Think I'll have to join you in continuing the challenge over again so that I can read the Count of Monte Cristo....think I'm missing a good one in this.
Ploughing through Greg Isles, really enjoying it when I manage to get my head around the technical medical talk involved!
Right, need to clean the house and entertain the kids. Feet up later with my book I hope.
Happy reading and have a terrific weekend folks.

I like the Telegraph list Buffythedebtslayer, some of those books appeal to me. I tried to read the Lord of the Rings when I was younger but couldn't get into it. Perhaps I should try again when I get to my T author.

I'm still on Jane Austen, really can't get into it but it does make me sleepy so that's good, ha!0

Aww Swinstie, give it up and move onto you B book if you're really struggling with JA. Life is too short to be ploughing through a book that you're not enjoying! I take my hat off to you for sticking with it this far! One mans something is another mans something else....(can't remember how it goes) :rotfl:
I've learnt to quit while I'm ahead on books that don't grip me and make me want to keep turning the page!

I didn't overly enjoy Christ Stopped at Eboli, so I've now started The Country Child which is a children's book, so should be nice and light."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0 -

Sister gave me the fourth Stephanie Meyer's book which is huuuuuuuuggeeeee and she said it's rubbish but I might need to read it anyway as read the others.0
