 Welcome Sweetpea!
I didn't know he wrote either! Its a great murder mystery/who done it book(s) in the style of Sherlock Holmes. Not something I'd have thought of picking up before A-Z!ColleenPamela wrote: »A: Adams, Douglas - Currently reading (among other things!) The Restaurant at the End of the Universe.
Love the title!! Please let us know what you think of it!
Have a good day all

Hi Folks!
'C' Book completed!
Judy Corbett - Envy.
Wow, what a book! Really can't find the words to describe it. Psychological insight into the mind of a 16yr old who wants someone elses life and the plan in getting it. Blooming Brilliant! :T
My 'D' Book is Will Davis - Dream machine! Enjoying it already.
Hooray for Colin Firth's success at the Oscars. The man that makes me swoon at the mention of Mr Darcy and Pride and Prejudice
Hope you've all had a good weekend!

Hi Lala
Couldn't get into either of my first choices so went to the local library but not much choice in the A section. Got the Cecelia Ahern Book of Tomorrow as it is the only one of hers I haven't read. I do find she pads out her books of late. I find myself skipping bits. I have ordered my C book as it is the latest from one of my favourite authors....Bryce Courtenay. So I may miss C until it comes in. My B novel is Charlotte Binghams The House of Flowers. I also got David Nicholls.... One Day whilst I was in the library.
I haven't had much time for reading lately so I may lag behind some of you, but I'll try to catch up.0 -
Hi all,
Well I'm still reading my Jane Austen book, don't have loads of time to read but getting through it. I've got my B, C & R authors and have also got my L & S (book club in my doctor's surgery, 50p a book, yeah). So my list is as follows, obviously with loads to fill in.
Austen, Jane - Emma - currently reading
Brown, Dan - Deception Point
Cornwell, Patricia - Black Notice - started this but couldn't get into it, gonna try again
.
Lindsay, Jeff - Dexter by Design (I love Dexter but the books are different from the prog)
.
Roper, Tony - The Reverend I.M. Jolly (I love Rikki Fulton) - got this for Christmas a few years ago and again couldn't get into it
Sebold, Alice - The Lovely Bones - haven't read or seen the film, sounds good though
Goodness, I have loads to fill in, but loads to keep me going.0 -
I will be up for this after this week! I love reading and don't do it enough.
Will get to the Library on Saturday, I really don't want them to close. I love libraries!

Hi Everyone!
ionahenor hope you are enjoying The Book of Tomorrow. I found it good, easy reading. I'm going through a phase of having a bit of extra time to read in the evenings (OH is a footie fan and there seems to be a lot of it on at the moment)! I know it will slow down eventually.
Swinstie hope JA is going well. You've certainly got a good stockpile to keep you rolling, good for you! I loved the Dexter books and the last one I read was Dexter by Design, I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it. I also love the series and struggle with the fact that Deb knows more about the secret in the books! Do you watch True Blood? The Charlaine Harris books are fantastic for fans of the series.
Welcome Buffythedebtslayer! Is it ok to call you Buffy? Great to hear from someone else who loves their libraries. I think its the thrill of leaving a building with goodies and not ending up in court and your local newspaper for theft! Looking forward to hearing your A-Z picks!
My E book is Ben Elton - Postmortem.
I'm going to the library today to take a couple back so will pick up my F book today!
Bye for now bookworms!

Been to library today and have 2 A books and 2 B books -
The Checkout Girl by Tazeen Ahmad and The Affair of the 39 Cufflinks by James Anderson
Oscar Wilde and the Ring of Death by Gyles Brandreth and Agatha Raisin and the Curious Curate by MC Beaton.
(Swinstie - Have read the Lovely Bones and enjoyed it but Alice Sebold has also written another book can't remember what it is called but I found I couldn't read it, it is the true story of a rape the author suffered when at university, I found it really disturbing to read)0 -
Read, and loved, Behind the Scenes at the Museum, and am now on the Thirty-Nine Steps, finding it a gret read , really pulled me in with the feeling of danger really being successfully portrayed, think I will read the other Richard Hannay stories sometime too.
You're all very naughty too, as I've had to go an look for the Gyles Brandreth books now too - as I'd never heard of his books!!
My 'C' read will be The Big Four by Agatha Christie - I loved her books as a teenager and so am going to revisit her but with a book I haven't read before0 -

The CHeckout Girl is so so funny, especially if you've ever worked on the tillsI think the other book Alice Sebold wrote may be called Happy?
