How much!!

  • Wow, you really appear to need to justify this purchase to yourself and everyone else, don't you?

So this 'spare' money.. is it left over from the loan? If you think of this as 'free money' then you have truly missed the point of MSE. I don't especially care what groups you visit on this site, but if you look at the URL, you won't see it as "!!!!ingawayloanmoneyontoys.com"

Have fun paying back your loan.

It is a bit overkill, I'll decide if I pursue with it depending on how much free money I have :)

    The answer is "none".
If you need a loan to buy the machine then you have no spare money. If there is money left after you've built this pc, then it's because you borrowed too much.

I don't have nay problems with anyone spending their money how they please, but borrowing money means, by definition, you have no spare cash.

seems like some smart cookies on this thread perhaps some advice for a know veeeeeeeeery little about buying a laptop? and certainly not at that other guys price.Im looking for a laptop for the wife(yes I know seems like a fair exchange).I know zero about rams etc but its needed for her to use for her facebook and skype to keep in touch with her brother and playing online scrabble writing odd letter etc.I bought a toshiba 4 years back for eldest daughter and it seems good but takes forever to start up and sometimes freezes for no reason.got it from pc world and cant complain about them except when I went down with zero knowledge I was sold it then told id need seperate antivirus extra and a bag to carry it in (rarely used).so before I go there again or anywhere else could anyone tell me of a good make, and what needs to be in it to make it work for what she wants and roughly how much to pay?thanks..

    Simple,

1-Don't go to PC world as they are truley awful and will try and sell you a heap of extra junk

2-Since you only need to do basic tasks you could do alot worse than to hop online and get a bog standard dell type thing for £350ish whatever happens to be on offer.

3-you could try looking at integrated microphone/webcams, webcam might cut down on the bulk of a separate one if you travel alot. I'd always sugest getting a separate headset for SKype (and if you can get one with 3.5mm audio jacks rather USB you'll probably find it alot easier to use too )
