So FatButcher, what do you actually get in the deal - in terms of cables, controllers, and games?

Desperately trying to choose between a Wii and 360 - don't know which way to turn.
I am a cider drinker - like my father before me.
  • I wouldn't say you choose between a Wii and a 360, they have completely different style of games. Have a look at gamespot.com and at the games available for each and choose the one with the games you going to like.

I'm not following the Boots points system? How do you get £30 off the Xbox 360 through the boots points? I thought you get 3359 points when you order Xbox 360? So would it not count towards the next purchase rather than the current one?

A quick clarification of this would be greatly appreciated as I'm hoping to take advantage of this offer if possible.

    Thanks

From what I understand that's exactly it, you use the £30 on whatever you purchase next from boots. If you frequently buy stuff from boots then it's a great offer, if you're like me and hardly shop there then there's not much use for the £30
Maybe you're the same as me, we see things they'll never see...

Yeah demonic, thats what i'm thinking you cant really get an Xbox 360 for £205 then its more like £236 (£279-£28 using the discount voucher and £252-£16 using Quidco).

Yeah I'm thinking to use Great Universal, but I dont see the offer where you are entitled to 20% off your first order if you are a new subscriber? That's one of the things I'm worried about along with the fact that it takes a while to actually get the Xbox 360?

I've looked into this and all looks good! but in the end I opted to go via Boots for mine, with a discount code found here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=3640499#post3640499 you can get it for £251.99 plus boots point (currently 3359 as theres an offer on worth around £30) free postage and using Quidco 6.5% cash back around £16.

In all works out about £205ish, this is without the hassle of finance and waiting ages. Delivery for free by 11th by ordering today! just need some games now :D

Not meaning to detract from somaKing's excellent find!!

Great deal!!. I was looking at Boots offers before I found this method. Boots offers are only valid for certain weekends and there weren't any deals when I wanted to buy. The GU method is good as it will work whenever you want - & on interest free credit... (which for many is a benefit) :)
If there had been a Boots deal when I was looking then I prob would have gone with Boots, passing the points onto my girlfriend.

I think I posted about games before.. worth checking HMV site using £5 discount codes - most games work out about £32. If it's for yourself (ie. not a gift) then it's always worth checking eBay.

It's still effectively £205 if you're ever going to buy stuff from Boots again... It's just that you get the discount at a later date. Same deal as using Quidco - I'm not due the £25 cashback until Jan. Still means that the overall cost will be (approx) £203.

Yep - it does take a while... esp with Xmas looming. Mine took just under three weeks. Might take longer if you order now - worth checking.

If you want to buy one asap then it might be worth paying the extra & going to a shop. Play also have good bundle deals now... still works out a little bit more expensive (& no interest free options) but they 'should' arrive quicker.

nb. You need to add the 20% discount code as part of the registration/order. (See full instructions in earlier posts.)
  • Trollop its on the page before you confirm im pretty sure, opens up a window with the deals and codes underneath them then just copy the code into the box.

I ordered mine then had to speak to them to pay deposit so the order was processed properly on the 1st december and they said before 15th december. Not in any rush for it as finish uni that day so dont really want any distractions.

Thanks for such a great deal.

Good luck trying to get through as it seem to take forever.
