Cat 'repellent'

Woby_Tide,
Have just been talking to one of my neighbours about this very subject.
She used to put out old pop bottles with some water in her flower beds and didn't seem to get any cats pooing - I guess the water reflects and frightens them :-/
I used little plastic buds with repellent in them - can't remember what they were called and cat stopped for a while.
Unfortunately we think another cat has moved into the area as the amount of poo appearing in the garden in the last couple of months has increased drastically - it's not frightened of the water bottles nor put off by the buds. >:(
I've also heard that water pistols do work but you have to be around when it's toilet time!
Although it's an expensive solution I'm now about to try 'Silent Roar Lion Manure - Cat Repellant' I've seen on the Crocus gardening website.
http://www.crocus.co.uk/search/results/?ContentType=Product_Card&Item_No=PR30000858&ClassID=2000004185
If anyone has tried or heard about this could they please let me know if it worked
Don't know if there are any vouchers around for this site but you can get points if you're an ipoints or Rpoints member.

I have been told that the granules that you make curry sauce with sprinkled around your garden is a good deterrant, failing that shoot the smelly, filthy little moggiesThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Extra hot chilli powder, really cheap if you get it in large bags from an Indian Grocers.
Sprinkle it on your garden. You have to reapply after heavy rain.

as they had taken a shine to a particular corner, a few spare pieces of featheredge fencing and a liberal amount of two inch nails knocked through it, when buried under 1cm of soil seems to be an excellent deterrent so far, bet they don't try sitting down there again ;D ;D ;D ;D0

note to all users having a sensible discussion here - throwing water and the like may, depending on your local magistartes (or PF if your up here in not proven land) see you falling foul (scuse the pun) of the Protection of Animals (Amendment) Act 2000. (in which it states cats are free to roam)0

I know, the laws gone mad really.
Maybe cat owners should be obliged by law to have a tag on their cats neck saying that they may carry harmful diseases, kill wildlife and !!!!!! on your garden >:(Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

I don't know if I should tell you this, but cats are attracted to the smell/taste of anti freeze, so if you pour some into a bowl of water and give the cats free range, they will come and drink the water and from then on, will stay away, probably because they're dead.Nobody can make you feel inferior, without your permission
