No idea if this will work but if cats don't do it in places they like plant some cat nip, they really like it!!

Maybe they'll get so high they won't poo in your garden or maybe you'll attract more cats and make the problem worse?? Does anyone know??

My father has been a great gardener for maybe 65 years. When I was a kid he was always moaning about neighbour's cats. For the last ten years he hasn't moaned about cats. He bought some kind of ultrasound emitter on a little post which is plugged in to the mains permanently I think.

I don't know if I should tell you this, but cats are attracted to the smell/taste of anti freeze, so if you pour some into a bowl of water and give the cats free range, they will come and drink the water and from then on, will stay away, probably because they're dead. Currently I am using a high powered water pistol, the thing is, if you meet a cat in the garden, you simply walk away from it.............to where you have left the pistol, but the cat dosen't know this, he has simply become complacent and settled over your strawberries in readiness for a crap. Cough and whistle whilst you pump up the pressure, then swivel round and aim like hell.

Antifreeze will cause catastrophic liver damage causing them to die a very slow and extremely painful death. Surely that is not what you are suggesting?

I always try and brighten up our dull little street by planting flowers every year. Sadly, the local cats take great pleasure in ripping up the plants and depositing their poo in the nice soft ground. This year however I've sorted them out.

I dug the garden as usual and then I laid a length of chicken wire along the surface. I then planted the plants and finished of the toil by laying a a couple of inches of peat. The peat keeps the weeds down and when the cat come along they can't dig the ground up because of the checken wire. When a came out this morning I could see that the cat/s had attempted to dig 6 holes but failed each time. I simply leveled out the peat again and things are back to normal.

Hopefully the cats will eventually get bored trying and move on... hopefully!

Failing that, I reckon I might just start collecting their 'dirt' and once a week throw it into the garden of the person who I know has cat's who come into my garden at night........

If you are a marksman, consider a low powered BB gun. Aim for the rear quarters, preferably while it is defacating. The shock of a sharp sting in the rear should be a memorable occasion and the equivelant of "coitus interuptus" should make it change its habits.

i wondered whether this might work, as several houses either side of mine have several cats each.

if you deposit cat food in an unused corner of your garden, would the cats (having gladly eaten it) , then NOT sh@t it my garden?

the logic being, they sh@t in their owners garden because they get fed....

ps I would only give them the food i managed to get as freebies from other threads on this site
smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to.... ;)

Have you tried putting short sticks in the area that the cats go in, we did that & they soon stopped paying us a visit. Alternatively water down some Jeys fluid. If you know whos cat it is dig up the poo and put it through their letter box !!!!!
