If they sell in the UK though, do they not need to comply with UK Law and Regulations?

No, only if they sell from the UK and Pixmania sell from France, though a myriad of EU regs will apply.

This is the address retrieved from a letter I wrote to the CEO of DSG, the parent company, in relation to an issue I hade with one of their other subsiduaries, PC World.

As I said above Mr Clare passed my letter to the MD of PC World and I received a satisfatory response from him in person.

I suggest all you people having problems with Pixmainia write to him in person clearly and politely stating the problem and giving a sequence of events to where you are now.

  • pixmania get some bad press, I guess thats a risk with dealing with a site that operates from overseas and scrapes the barrel on prices. Anyone see that program yesterday about buying a camera on the high street, Phil was able to buy a hugely discounted digital camera from a high street store just by asking for money off. Any probs and its straight back to the shop.

I sometimes think there is a reason why some places are so cheap, that of course does not justify poor service, but as savvy consumers we do have options...

  • Well today, I got a letter from Royal Mail, saying they cannot provide a Signature to me!

How ever, they say they can confirm they delivered it...

But how can they confirm to me? There is no evidence.

Are they taking liablility by saying this to me?

    Hi matty,

now that royal mail have said this, go to this website https://www.postwatch.co.uk, they are independent. I have used these twice when the royal mail have messed up and both times got a result.

    Hope this helps good luck.
  • Thanks for the reply mate.

I'm thinking that I should call them first, and then go to that site and complain when I am unhappy (which I think i probably will be lol). At least then I am giving them a chance to sort it out them selves, else they may argue later they couldn't have done anything about it if an issue hadn't of arised! What you reckon!?

    Matt. :)
  • OMGOSH.

Pixmania now tell me they have my parcel. Great, but

    Why only now I wonder?!?

    Hi matty,

Tell them you have now gone out and bought a camera, and you want a refund and compensation for your time, settle for your money back.

As for the postage I would get hold of postwatch and let them push for your money back and compensation for your time, as the royal mail should of got a P.O.D when they delivered it. You have not got what you paid for. And at the end of the day they are getting off lightly as it as now turned up.

Dont let it lie, push push push.
    Hope this helps
