Pixmania / Royal Mail / My Returned Camera!
Comments
-
Hi,
I thought a company was only allowed 28 days to sort it out, then they have to offer you a refund or exchange. My friends camera went faulty so she took it back to dixons, 28 days later she phoned them up to find out where the camera was and it still hadn't been returned. She informed them that she was on the way down for a refund or an exchange. She took the exchange as it was a better camera.
hope this helps.0 -
Wow, you are right:
http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk/cgi-bin/calitem.cgi?file=ADV0043-1011.txtThe trader can refuse to agree to either of these remedies if it is disproportionate in comparison to the other remedies. For example, if you ask a trader to replace a washing machine then he would be entitled to turn down your request and offer a repair instead.
However, the repair or replacement must be carried out within a reasonable time and without causing significant inconvenience to the consumer. If this does not happen or the repair or replacement is not possible, then the consumer can rescind the contract (claim a refund) or request a reduction in purchase price.
After reasonable time (lets say 28 days), can I just ask for a refund, because I am sick of waiting...0 -
Hey Matty,
let us know how you go on.0 -
they are speaking rubbish, you bought the camera from them and therefore your contract is with them not the manufacturer........therefore it is up to them to short it out.
It is beyond me why companies still think they can pull that shift the blame trick..........must think the population of uk are all idiots.

i was advised today by a friend to write to them, saying that if I do not get my camera back by the end of the 28 days, that I will go and buy a new top spec one and send them a bill.
What you all think?0 -
That they wont pay the bill?!
Is your friend qualified or knowledgeable of legal things? Have you spoken to Trading Standards or Consumer Direct? You could always get in touch with Watchdog - and in your next correspondence with Pixmania mention you have involved watchdog now.Weight Loss - 102lb0 -

Write to the CEO of DSG.
I can't remember his name but I actually wrote to him wrt a problem I was having with PC World.
Within a week I had a letter back from the MD of PC World - totally resolving the problem.Behind every great man is a good womanBeside this ordinary man is a great woman£2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:0 -

Good luck
and you'll need it. French Consumer Laws are not the easiest to understand and I prefer to bang my head against a brick wall than take on some of the shopping, service and government 'customer service' here, either by telephone or in writing.
If you are coming to Paris their HQ is just up the road from the Arc de Triomphe.
DSG own a 75% stake in Fotovista, Pixmania's parent company and the CEO was/is a chap called John Clare.0 -
If they sell in the UK though, do they not need to comply with UK Law and Regulations?0
