  • its raining here and I had a small panic attack when I thought the WM had died, complete with load of washing I did last night, but I had used an eco programme I don't usually use and all it needed was telling to do the final spin :rotfl:

I am giving my neck and shoulder a rest from bathroom tiles, dailies done, so its fire lighting time and sewing machine out, I should plan meals for the weekends a bit better so I can just stick it in the oven and not have to worry.:o

Breakfast eaten, DW on (will need a second load :o) and budget updated - looking better than I dreaded.

I'm a bit disappointed. I wanted to see a Scottish singer/songwriter next weekend but left it too late to order my ticket and it's sold out. There was an e-mail address given to contact in case any tickets become available, but I'm not holding out much hope. :( I saw him a few times in Germany in the 80s and was really looking forward to it, after his concert in December was cancelled due to the snow.

OK, best find some cleaning up clothes, as this dressing gown is too long and too bulky. I'll alternate QHCs in the bathroom and kitchen, I think, but WM is first.

I can recommend having a supply of cards and a present drawer for these kind of occasions... Once you build up a stock you'll find you always have something appropriate whatever the occasion :) books of postcards are good for thank you letters, keep in touch type notes and more casual birthday cards.

Raining here ... I'm staying with my parents so had hoped to get some long walks in, but even the dog doesn't seem keen on going out in this weather! The house is freezing due to the cost of oil... Need more layers and should have brought thermals! Off to get some trousers altered later, as there is lady I've used for years who does fantastic alterations, so I make the most of it when I come up. She remade one of my suit jackets last year when i lost weight!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.
  • Morning,

Throwing it down here and windy too.
Have got the plumber in the kitchen, so can't get on.
I've been into town, and the DW and WM are on.
I'd better change our bed whilst i can't get downstairs.
    Off I go.......
