Getting there Patrick :T, not long now :j.

  • £8992.48 left...
  • Have now decided to put my flat up for sale and want to move before my 40th birthday instead of completely paying off mortgage....

All those overpayments were well worth it; am now paying the minimum monthly amount so that I can save up for moving costs.
That means only £150 a month on the mortgage at the moment :)

Am going to get my flat valued on Tues... I won't get back what I paid for it in 2003, but it won't be far off... Market isn't good round here, so no point in holding out for top dollar (flat isn't exactly luxurious anyway: just checked up EPC from when I tried to sell it before and it says floor space is only 26 sq. metres!!!!!!!!!!!)
  • Agreed to offer on my flat 6 days after it went on the market!
:j Had 6 viewings in that time (plus 2 lined up!)

I know there are a lot of hurdles to overcome yet though...

I turned down an asking price offer because the buyer kept changing his mind (and wanted me to go into temporary accomodation so he could move in quickly...)
Accepted an offer £1000 less than that from a BTL investor( who already has a few properties & has BTL mortgage in place) so no chain. Just hope they sign on the dotted line before 72 hour deadline passes...

Even if this does fall through, I think my Estate Agent is doing an amazing job!

Am now looking at houses rather than flats on RightMove...
