It might be worth warning the police what you are doing and there might be a problem, if needed they can remove her.

  • Lock away everything of financial and/or sentimental value. And change the locks the day she goes. Probably the phone number, as well.

Actually, have you had a phone bill recently? Any bank cards/pin number notifications/statements/utility bills go missing at all? Have you seen your passport in the last 3 days?

Are you going to be in the house 24 hours a day for the next fortnight?

I think that she might disappear with enough stuff to keep her going and set up accounts in your name.

Or she could come back a few days after leaving with a set of keys she had cut beforehand and empty your house/vandalise it.

Or she could go bats**t mad and end up with the police involved/threatening to get them involved/commit suicide/whatever.

So you may still have to do the binbags on the front lawn.

In fact, it would be handy if she does flip, as you can then say 'Get out now or I call the police', rather than go a fortnight wondering if it's going to go to plan.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

Not really. Tbh I would cut your losses - make sure you get your house key back (maybe even change the locks once she has gone)

Well done for tackling the problem, I know it's not easy when you're naturally a non-confrontational person.

I'd still change the locks or something similar.
If she thought nothing of stealing from you she will think nothing of having the key copied when she was out, be careful
