Thanks for updating. I have been thinking of you a lot and keeping you in my prayer. (Hope you don't mind!) I am absolutely appalled at the amount of stress and hassle they have put you through and am not surprised that you just feel like crying. Go gently.0

Yes i think after all you have been through. I would of wanted my day in court, as well. I would take your story to one of the womens glossy magazines. You deserve to be heard and you deserve an apology. I for one think it is awful what you have been through. I am sure all the Boots customers on here will agree. x x x x
I'm a journalist and I can tell you the women's mags would definitely be interested in this. Also possibly some of the national papers. However, what Foxy Lady deserves is a grovelling apology and a ruddy great cheque from Boots. At the very least, they abused her ignorance of the law to intimidate her and do things they had no right to do. And if they refuse to return her property, then how is THAT not theft? It's easy to say do this and do that when you haven't been through such an horrendous experience but I really feel this is worth pursuing through a solicitor. The threat of bad publicity would probably prompt some compensatory action; I certainly don't think they will volunteer it.
So Boots - if you are reading this..I am very well connected with the folks at Watchdog and the One Show and shall be dropping them an email to suggest they take a look at this thread...and another look at Boots civil recovery policies.....
Also I haven't been Bootsing for ages and came on this thread looking for inspiration. Instead I have decided never to shop there again (or at least until they do the right thing by Foxy Lady)...I'm going to use the local independent chemist insteadMake £10 a day May challenge

Hiya, haven't been on for ages. Didn't want to torment myself with mega-bargains & glitches since im not allowed instore anymore.
Just wanted to update my situation as ive had a few pm's asking how things are going.
My first bail date was delayed from the first week of may and rebooked for tomorrow. I was told this was 'boots' being slow to gather evidence. I have just had a call from the police woman in charge of the investigation to say i dont need to go tomorrow- no further action is being taken.
I should be elated- but im not. I could cry
Hi foxy-lady,
I cannot believe you still have not had your things back. It seems like ages ago we were reading about your awful situation. I hope it's not too much longer before it all gets sorted out with not just a "no further action is being taken" from Boots. Really feel for you. Hope you get a better nights sleep tonight.
TS x
Ps you have not missed out too much on bargains, there have not been as many this as last year I think.0 -
I bought two 17 Eye Dazzle Eye Shadow's today (with the free 17 concealer voucher from the ACM), they've been reduced to 1.99 and I think they're fantastic! Well worth it, especially at 1.99 for two eye shadows and a concealer!

I have had no correspondence from Boots whatsoever. The police have been in communication with them throughout. I asked the police woman on the phone if i was now allowed back in store and she said she didn't know and would check tomorrow. I then asked about having my things returned and she gave me the exact same reply.
I am getting the impression that they still suspect me but dont want to take things further officially??? My solicitor thinks it would be bad press for them that they dont want. IE- boots has loyal customer arrested and charged for taking avantage of its own policy'. I dont know what to think. I hardly slept last night and was expecting tonight to be even worse.
xx
I hope in the light of everything that's happened I hope that your solicitor is now going after them for wrongful arrest and I would be threatening a civil case against Boots now for taking without consent if they still have your stuff. I would also be heading straight off to the national papers some rag like The Sun or Mirror would lap this up. I'm disgusted that Boots have behaved like this and i'd think twice before shopping in there ever again now
BTW arrest without charge will probably show up on an enhanced CRB check should you apply for a job requiring one in the future so you'll end up having to explain that to a prospective employer and furthermore what steps are the police now going to take to remove your DNA and fingerprints from the database?0 -
I just bought two pairs of Fitflops at 40% discount on the Boots website. Instead of £40 I paid £24. They are the Oasis type in black and brown, available in a range of sizes when I checked. :-):A0

Omg, yes! I wonder if this works in store?
I've got a couple of vouchers from the ACM for a free 17 Hide & Chic Concealer with the purchase of any other 17 item.
If the above glitch works, you could potentially get 3 x eye shadows PLUS a concealer for 1.99!0 -
