  • Try this:

Method 1: 2007 Microsoft Office programs
Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Add or Remove Programs.
In Add or Remove Programs, click Microsoft Office 2007, and then click Change.
Click Add or Remove Features, and then click Continue.
On the Installation Options page, expand Office Shared Features.
Click the arrow next to New and Open Office Documents Shortcuts, click Run from My Computer, and then click Continue.
When the update is complete, click OK, and then close Add or Remove Programs.

  • thank you toxteth i've done what you said rebooted but still get the same in reply 24
  • In post #24, run the Microsoft Office Diagnostics and select Repair.

If that doesn't work it may be due to your Program Access and Defaults being set to open Office and OE, we can look at that next.

If none of those work it's easy enough to create shortcut icons in the All Programs menu from within the MS Office program folder.

    11. Proceed and find the rest of the Office applications in that folder. Follow the same instructions as above. Most of the Office applications have somewhat identifiable names (like Microsoft Access = Access.exe)
