my god things soon start once you've submitted a claim with mcol don't they...!??!?!?!? submitted ours this morning, for £225, but i also said that we've got another £50 coming out on the 5th may that a&l so very kindly forwarned us about :rolleyes: have asked mcol if these can be taken into account in the claim. going on your replies should here something next week??

RIght then,

After receiving my pitiful offer of £431.50 from A&L yesterday I got a letter from their solicitors this morning stating their acknowledgement and intention to defend.

As far as i know this gives them 28 days now... here's hoping they pay up!

I also received a cheque for less than I'm claiming from A&L.
I returned it.

I then received an acknowledgement from Wragge & Co, their solictors.
Then this morning I received their defence running to 23 particulars.

Its a little worrying, but I'm sitting tight!

has anybody been in this postion with A&L?

THats where i'm at - just about.

I got the offer yesterday and the intention to defend this morning! I haven't got a list of their defence yet though... I#m slightly concerned too, so i'm just about to scoot back through the old threads and find some more people like us who hopefully succeeded!!

Weird, maybe they are just being inconsistent...

Steve - a quick look back shows that they tend to state intention to defend and then people come home to a cheque for the full amount soon after, I dont think we should worry.

LFCGuy - stick in there, you'll probably hear something soon. I am going to send my cheque back on monday and wait and see!

A&L tend to send out a cheque (after defence papers come through) any time up to about 14 days after, reading through the threads, so I'd sit tight and see what happens.

Keep us informed guys ... expecting their defence through any day now.

Hi Guys, Sorry to jump in! Have been following this thread for some time but only registered today-straight after receiving defence papers from "trainee solicitor" at Wragg & Co! Needless to say, I was a bit alarmed!
I have never received any acknowledgement or offer from A and L, they didnt begin sending my statements out in the first place until I reported them to the information commisioner, they ignored all other correspondence.
What next? I am not optimistic about an offer-do I sit tight and wait for MCOL to contact me? I'm not really worried but could do without the hassle of court!
Thanks for all the information I have taken fom this site to get me to where I am now-guess I just needed bit of moral support after getting this through my letterbox!!

Try not to worry ... A&L seem to be changing their tactics and appear to be filing a defence sooner rather than at the last minute, as they used to. None of us want to go to court, or have all the hassle of preparing the dreaded court bundle but, hopefully, it won't come to that. You're in good company here ... keep us all informed so we can offer each other support and chances are you'll soon have a cheque in the post.

In the meantime, just sit and wait for MCOL to get in touch ...
