Ok,
I have sent my 1st letter to A&L and recieved a response dated 25th July?? Stating blah blah blah and also stating that
"the oft had commmented that they consider the level of late payment fees to be unfair, however, they were actually referring to late paymen fees for credit card payments, which are quite distinct from a bank's fees on current accounts?????"
Not sure if anyone else has had this comment on their letter
Therefore what I would like to know is - as A&L aren't on the list of banks in the test case do I still pursue and send the 2nd letter or will they have suspended my case???  (Bearing in mind the letter they have sent was on on 25th july)
Please help!!!
EVERYONE'S had this letter and the vast majority of other letters you'll receive from them. You'll learn fast that everything is "standard" from them, apart from their Defence papers, which they do tend to vary now a little to keep everyone on their toes.

Cheque arrived this morning for FULL AMOUNT
Send by DHL courier ... court hearing due at 2pm today! Cancelled hearing and will hand deliver letter to court asking them to keep case open 'til cheque cleared.
Cheque includes lots of £5 OD Monthly charges, so all those who've included them, don't worry, you should get them back!
Lots of letter writing to do now, but thank god that after nearly 8 months, it's all over!
My SIL is still in shock. She lost her husband mid way through proceedings and I "took over". Hopefully this will help make her life a little bit easier ... I promised her husband before he died, I'd do everything to help her, so feel really good about this.
All those still claiming ... take heart from this and continue your claims, at least until the courts tell you otherwise. Hopefully you'll ALL get your due amounts soon and please please continue your claims until you do. In virtually all cases now, Wragge are not submitting their court papers, so you'll win by default anyway!
My SIL was offered 80% of her claim 2 weeks ago and I managed to persuade her to continue; she's now got £800 more!! They panic as the court date gets nearer and always seem to up their offers until it gets to full settlement. DON'T settle for any less
Good luck everyone!

Hi There !!
This is my first time in writing a post, but I need some help !!
I'm in the process of taking Alliance and Leicester to court for a total of £1400, they have previously offered me two settlements the first one for £400 the second £750, both of which I rejected. I have just had a letter from the court asking me for a court allocation fee of £100, now do I pay this and carry on ?, the problem being that I will struggle to find this £100 and I am worried that they will suddenly say that with the recent news that now all the court cases will also be put on hold. I really need the cash and I am really uncertain of what to do for best.0 -
You must proceed as normal and pay the AQ fee; you mustn't risk your case been thrown out. Even if things are delayed, the fee is reclaimable at the end, so you will get it back.

Thanks MimiJane
Will they then give me a court date and any idea of the timescale?0 -
Impossible questions to answer I'm afraid at the moment in view of the recent announcement.
You'll get a court date as and when, just proceed as normal for now until/unless the court advise otherwise.
It depends entirely on how busy your local court is and how they're treating the announcement as to timescales.
