.....When you buy something from Comet this way, What sort of guarantees and warranty do you get?

Is it the same as going into the store and buying?

I have emailed them but I have no answer as yet.
    Anyone know?

    Hi Cinders ...

Do hope you got your item .... I have bought a few things from Comet Clearance ... most have had superficial scratches etc ... but the last thing I bought was a Bosch washer ... got it for the super cheap price of £111 ... think it was £359 or something new ... anyway it turned out to have a leak from the waste pipe ... Comet came and fixed it FOC as part of a 1 year warranty ...

I then simply signed it up for the usual Bosch 2 year warranty ...

Bought a dishwasher from the site two weeks ago, it was delivered this morning, couldn't find any scratches, however the control dial was broken in transit :( Am blaming the company who delivered :( very unhappy ....

Manage to grab a Bosch Dishwasher, in store price £329.99, for £135 + £30 delivery. :j :j Bargain!!

It even had the funnel that was meant to be missing. It took me a while to find the small dent/scratch on the front.

Overall, I am pleased except for the long lead time on delivery (14 days).

Would use again but you need to be careful as some of the prices seem to be very over the top.

    Hi

Just a note of caution about Comet Clearance...

I bought an expensive washing machine from this lot, which turned up with damage/scratches not mentioned on the listing. Worse, right from the start it was not working properly at all (overfilled, hosed water all over my kitchen floor and wouldn't spin, all warning lights blinking). The Miele engineer fixed it really quickly (and it's a really good machine now), but I had to take a day off work.

Comet Clearance not interested of course, even though the machine came from them in an unusable state, and was labelled as passing "all tests". Yeah, riiight (as my lad might say).

You might be luckier than me, but I'd certainly think twice (at least) before using them again.

I got a 1600 spin Hoover washing machine from there for £170 - was £359 in store - couldn't even find any scratches / dents on it as mentioned in the ad. Works great as well - what a bargain!
Gave my old one away on freecycle as well and they managed to fix it so plenty of people were happy!

Comet Auction Is A Joke, Always Has Been, Pretty Much As Bad As Cash Converters Desperate attempts to get rid of crap

Comet is a joke full stop. They tell you that they are only agents for the product manufacturers and that any problems with the items in the shop means the item has to be sent back to the makers.
Come on Martin I thought you were better than this. How many people are getting ripped off by these shysters. Your scraping the bottom of the barrel with this crowd.
  • I would not order from Comet Clearance again due to the 2 items (cooker and washer dryer ) both being faulty.
Just been without a washer for Christmas and new year as the Bosch washer I bought from them 6 months ago and has been repaired numerous times throughout this period ,finally blew its motor .
Only consolation is I will recieve a new replacement ,but wouldnt want to go through that hassle again !
Moneysaving? - I cant stop spending because of this site!
  • I need some clarification:

When something on the site is listed as:

    Used/Returned/No Box.

What is the maximum time it could be used for before being returned and sold on the website? Some Comet Advisors are saying 7 days and the last one I spoke to said - they could have been used up till 12 months before being returned!

    Whats the dealio?

    Thanks
