I work for Asda. I'm pretty sure I know what the problem is here. Our delivery notes are currently being redesigned to make them easier to read as they are a little confusing to follow, especially if you have had an item substituted for something else.
We posted a full explanation on the Your Asda site last November - after we'd been on Wathdog to explain the issue.
The easiest way to resolve any confusion you may have is to call the Asda home shopping team on 0800 952 6060. They will help you understand your delivery note and will ensure you have been charged the correct amount. In the meantime our new delivery notes are being introduced this month.“Official Company Representative
I am the official company representative of Asda. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"0 -
I must admit that I check my receipts for prices against the items.
If I understand what you are saying - the items are correct, but the total is wrong. I must admit that I don't tally up the total - maybe I should start doing this.
(oh - and Asdadom - you need to have permission to post as a company "Rep")“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -
I always check my receipts - have lost track of the number of times I have been overcharged - particularly when they are advertising a deal but have not adjusted their tills for it. Only 3 days ago I shopped at the Co-Op and was charged for an item I hadn't even purchased!!! Phoned Head Office and they are going to come back to me to explain how this happened - it was only for some chocolate but even so.0

Asdadom, It has nothing to do with the delivery note. I find them very simple to undertand. Even before the special offers and deals are taken off, the sub-total is completely wrong. (So nothing to do with substitutes either - That, if it were a problem, would arise later upon realising a certain item is not available, not upon initial checkout on the site) I have checked ALL of my reciepts and the totals are all wrong!!! I have been overcharged by varying amounts on all of them. It seems to me, the calculator on the website is what is wrong.
Also, Asda has PM'd me but, for whatever reason, my reply is not going through. I need to know who I can send all of my reciept numbers to as calling is quite infuriating. I'm either cut off after waiting ages or the person on the phone is completely inaudible. I don't have the time or money on my mobile to rectify ASDA's error everytime I shop with them.
I also have several issues with my last order (Saturday 11th) being very late with no phonecall/notice and most of the groceries were out of date. I fully understand that, that is down to the actual store the groceries were delivered from. I very much doubt I'll ever shop with ASDA again. I just want my money back and I'll move on to another company.
This has happened at least once a Month. I refuse to pay (and be over-charged) for sub-standard groceries and terrible customer service.0 -
I ordered online from asda last week, they were 30 mins late delivering and one item didnt arrive - im now off to check my receipt0

Email your problem to the ASDA CEO andy.clarke@asda.co.uk
Include a link to this thread and the previous one so that he can see it is in the public domain, they hate bad publicity , his minders will deal with it urgently !

Please, please, please everyone who has shopped online with Asda, get your calculators out and do some adding.
Even if it's out by a few Pence, It doesn't belong in Asda's pocket!
My emails are being completely ignored. Does anyone have a better, more formal route I can go through to get my money back?
Tried the website too and no reply to my mails.
Really annoyed and upset.0 -

THANKYOU SO MUCH *Hugs* :-)0 -
I got another PM from Asdaserviceteam even though they are not on the MSE's company 'allowed' list. I cannot PM back as not allowed. Besides, I have sent 2 emails, one to customer services and the other to CEO.0

How long does it generally take for Asda to get back to you regarding a complaint? I'm still waiting but don't know the actual timescale they run on :-(0
