    anniestar,

Thankyou for your support and hug, need that, and the advice is great, I do know that hubby will react in the way that I am fearing, but I need to tell him, I am scared, he is my world and I know that he loves me too, but I am still scared, I don't want to tell him before christmas, because that will ruin it for the kids, and thats just not fair, however I have said that I didn't want to entertain this christmas, as it is expensive and I seem to always be the one who is stuck with that bloody turkey...
This is a nightmare, I should be so happy now, I have a beautiful family, I was picked for a TV show, which did change the way I felt about myself, made me all positive about my furture and then the debt ruined that, I just want to get my act together clear it, and start my new life with my family on a high, I am a good cook, so working with what I have should be easy for me, plus there is sooo much food in the cupboards I should really not even need to go shopping for a while.
Will do a MENU I promise.
This morning was not a good one, hubby showed me the shopping list, and I just said, yeah yeah will get it later, when you only have 37.00 left in your bank it's impossible, just can't do it, need to save that.
Have asked my daughter this morning if she has any friends locally that could take her, she is going to check that out for me today, even if we do alternate weeks thats gonna help.
Off to write a menu now, hmm Gordon Ramsey is bricking himself xxx

Good for you. Scour any mags you have lying around for coupons etc. Also why is hubby writing the shopping list when you're buying it? And cooking presumably? You should be in charge of that surely? Telling him is the right thing to do. Make sure you make a plan that details how you're going to pay it back, save on food, make a menu etc so he knows you're serious about trying to pay it back. That should help! Good luck. Let us know how you get on!

For someone that likes cooking with a cupbaord full of stuff there shoulod be no problem in "getting it eaten" as my dad would say.

Go throughg your bathroom as well, and cleaning cupbaord & work out how long you can go without buying this and that. Get yourself on the vuchers board as well, and collect vouchers towards shopping. 25p here and there DOES add up.

Once you have done the menu. things WILL look brighter - I betcha ;)

I am going too, already looking through old free papers, magazines and stuff for coupons, stopped buying hair products ages ago because I had too many, looking for a few bits today that I may be able to sell on ebay, although I cannot list them until I get paid, due to listing costs, but will probably have loads that I can get rid of, old videos and books a plenty in the house that I can get rid of, just need to be sure that I can list well so that people buy them... thanks for all the support everyone, I will get there eventually and I am so glad that I came onto this site it is amazing, I also have a little bit of a talent for web design so going to see if I can make a bit of extra doing that, I am not brilliant, but I can create a decent webpage, https://www.buyabetterhome.co.uk was my first, was trying to raise cash for first time buying hence a donation thing on there but don't use it anymore as I felt it was wrong, and it has not been updated for nearly a year as I got downhearted with google messing me about and taking their links on and off, think that they are off again now so not working, but I think it might be an idea to update it all and getting it looked spruced up a bit, great if I get the hits as can charge for advertising.. one day hey...

I promise i will, i made a very strange meal last night, with left over chillies, and veg, and some cheese that was just about to go out of code, I baked it all in the oven with some chicken breasts, and served it with home made crusty bread, it was lovely, and tonight, I have some fresh tomatoes and olives in the fridge, herbs in the garden and still a few chillies left, so think i will do a pasta sauce and chuck in some anchovys that have been in the cupboard for 6 months..... home made rice pud will stodge it up too, so they won't starve.. Got some squash from father in laws allotment, so may make a soup with that.. heck this could be fun, may try and write an economy recipe book and sell it on Ebay... worth a go?

What struck me is that your mortgage/rent, Council Tax and utilities come to more than £1000 per month out of a total income of £1700 odd. Thus your housing costs total around 60% of your income which, imho, is completely unrealistic. I think you need to sit down with your husband and work out some fundamentals, including whether you can go on living in your current home; I understand that the experts tell us that as a rough guide mortgage/rent should not exceed 30% of gross income, except for people on way above average salaries when different parameters apply.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.
