Scottish Power has withdrawn Online Energy 12 as of yesterday

I`ve just switched from B Gas to SP OES 12
So the discount for d/f is £32-55 a year, divided by 365, times the number of days your bill is for.0 -
I switched to OES 12 about 5 mins ago via phone. I explained that is was still showing up on their website on the front page for new customers so they agreed to honour it after discussing it with their supervisor!
Incidentally I'm an existing customer at the end of the fixed Online Feb 2011 deal so still available to existing customers if you ask nicely :-)0 -
Just spoke to Scottish Power as I too am coming off the Online Fixed Price Energy 2011 package and thought I'd chance my arm on the OES12 deal. Helpful customer services guy gave me 2 options - one was Online Discounted Energy deal, the second Fixed Platinum Deal until 2014- both @ £99 a month. All the other options were much higher payments. I am located in Greater Manchester.
Years usage was: Gas: 13867; Elec: 5758
Asked about the OES12 and was told that it had been withdrawn last week and no end of schmoozing on my part to get the deal worked! He said that OES13 was due shortly, but from earlier posts there is a large jump in the cost per unit of gas.
Pondering calling back again, but would be grateful for any ideas of a good deal - either with SP or not?
Thanks in advance0 -

I would suggest consulting a comparison site.
OES13 may still be competitive for you (even though the price of gas has rocketed since OES12)
Cheapest option according to EHL available to you appears to be separate gas & electric suppliers
gas: BG Websaver 10 £505 (assuming you are not elegible for Eon Age UK online)
electric: nPower SOL21 £520
Double check using a different comparison site"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Many thanks Premier - following your advice right now!0

Many thanks Premier - following your advice right now!
I have found that probably the best and most accurate is https://www.energyhelpline.com
Put in your annual usage.
Also whoever comes out on top, go to topcashback and see how much they will pay you to switch.0 -
I too am on the SP Online Energy saver, expiring end of this month.
Consumption :
Elec = 3414 kWh per year
Gas = 13339 kWh per year
I have run the figures through EHL and SimplySwitch, both of which have returned EDF Fixed Save (March 2012). Any hints or advice before I contact EDF to arrange? Do suppliers 'match' other suppliers to keep your business?
SimplySwitch is telling me EDF would be £44 more than what I am paying, but with £40 cashback, this does not seem too bad. I will check out topcashback now....
edit. Topcashback are not offering EDF cashback for some reason. Quidco give £50 back. Even better than SimplySwitch's £40!0 -
fwiw, for Seeboard region, comparing OES v12 to v13, the 2nd tier gas unit prices has come down but the 2nd tier electric unit prices have gone up.
Using Energyonline, and my own calculations, there is little to choose between OES v12 and v13 for our household.
I already moved from Fixed Price Energy 2011 to OES v12 a few weekends ago.0 -
OES13 actually starts tomorrow, 24th February 2011.
Details are now on the SP website

Edit: OES13 is a dual fuel tariff only
(OES12 had an electric only product option)"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
I managed to transfer my tariff to OES12 yesterday, fair play to them I was offered it about 3 weeks ago and had emailed my latest meter readings only to receive an email on Saturday saying that this tariff was no longer available but made a phone call to them and they have agreed to honour the original offer, I have also received a confirmation email that the transfer has taken place.
Just glad to get it all sorted.0
