Hi
Please could someone tell me what type of wheat to put in wheat bags? (the type that you heat up like a hot water bottle)
Thanks in advance.

There's mention of wheat bags in a few places on OS but I couldn't find full instructions anywhere. The page in the link wants to sell you stuff - but all the instructions seem clear enough and you can decide to buy from them or source things locally.

Those wheat grains look just like the wheat I throw to the chickens for which I pay £5 for 55kg.

my sis has asked me to make some wheat bags for her kids. my question is can i use fleece material, bearing in mind its going in the micro, as my local el cheapo's has huge fleece blankets for £1,99 and i have bought several colours already. if not i have plenty of coloured cotton sheeting in my stash
thanks csi0 -
Hey,
I have two bought wheat bags which are made with fleece material. I wouldn't have thought there'd be a problem. Just tell them not to nuke it for too long, else you get a really scortched popcorn effect :$

I'd love to make a wheat bag but have lost the instructions I had years ago. Can anyone tell me what I need and how to do it? ThanksWe don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0

I cut the sleeves off an old sweatshirt and partially filled with dried rice stitched up the cuff and the cut end. I made them last winter and been using them these past few nights, they heat up well, and we prefer it to the smell of the wheat.0

Oooh can you fill them with rice?? I didn't know!
I need to make one hot water bottle size for my small daughter.. I don't like the thought of her being in bed with a bottle of scalding hot water but a wheat bag is something I have in my head to make her anyway.
what kind of rice do you use?/

I really like the wheaty smell (I add lavender too) and want to make some of these - I know there's been a recipe on here for wheaty ones but I can't find it, please can someone tell me what sort of wheat to use (and where I get it, perhaps) ? Many thanks........0
