I've just sold a Nintendo DS - listed as working but faulty and in need of repair. Posted it on Wednesday, my buyer has 25 (ish) feedback, and before I posted it I thought I would have problems. They have emailed me to say that they have received it and the microphone doesn't always work and the left and right keys don't always work - neither of which I was actually aware of, but as the listing stated "faulty but repairable" am I covered by this? Buyer is asking for a partial refund so that they can get it fixed. I am of the mind that if they had actually read the listing and didn't want to have to pay repair costs they shouldn't have bid on it and agree with the full refund or no refund policy. See what happens and despite having 600 feedback and 100% feedback at that I am preparing myself for a negative.

you may want to open a thread if you need to ask some questions, as in this one we are helping the OP to deal with her issue, and yours is totally different.

Why people would pay for a courier to pick up an item, that is heavy and would be expensive to return, without even seeing it, really beats me.
  • She originally asked me to deliver it to her, wanted me to meet her in her town almost 2hrs drive away! I dont drive, and wouldnt have done anyway! This was why i.stick with collection only normally for a buggy, but i wanted it out the way hence agreeing to courier. Cost £10 to courier, id rather be down that than £38 if i felt the way she supposedly does, but she insists shes not returning it! I cant do anymore and i dont wanna argue with her. Xx
  • Ok shes now opened a paypal dispute saying i havent responded to her. Is now saying she wants to return for a refund etc but that she expects me to pay for the return. Shes bleating on bout being a single parent n doesnt have money to throw around-i am too and i dont either! The money has been placed on hold by paypal, i cant get on my computer to respond to the case properly at min, am on my phone right now and i cant see where to respond. But tomorrow i shall be replying saying return for refund was offered straight away but she declined that offer. And i wont be paying return costs either cheeky mare. Am wondering if shes going for a no fault refund, as it was done thru ebay, but im not sure how they deal with or decide those.
    God shes infuriating me!!!

You don't have to pay her return costs, PayPal won't give that too her, all she will get is original price and carrier charge...that is assuming she returns it of course, and I would be worried about sabotage with an idiot like that :/

  • well i responded to the dispute this morning saying that i had originally told her to return the buggy for a refund of her £38 and she declined this, however i accpeted the buyer wants to return for refund in the dispute console and left it at that, i've done my part and am now awaiting the buggy back.

she's just messaged me wanting me to arrange the courier as 'she doesnt know how'-yeah and that means me paying for it. i dont think so, it's her responsibility to return it so she needs to get on with it. im not being deliberatley awkward but im fed up of her whole attitude and the way shes speaking to me. The buggy was used with a buggy snuggle the whole time my son was using it, was easier to take that off and wash it rather than seat covers, plus it was winter and freezing out.

guess will have to wait and see what happens now.
