Hi LP, well done on all the insulating, i am sure it will make a big difference...one of the best things we did was put up a set of heavy interlined curtains at the front door...i couldnt believe the difference it made.

Hi LP and welcome to the board, there are loads of people on here to help you out with brill suggestions.
One thing is that you are starting your MFW journey young which is great for you, I unfortunately started it way too late.
You have already made good cutbacks, much better than I have so well done.
Do try and start using Quidco, that does make you some extra money. Have you a garden, do you fancy trying to grow your own veg?
The OS forum on here is great to have a look at too, that might give you more ideas on saving money. Perhaps you can persuade your OH to try things when she is more into the journey.
Best wishes on the soon to be no 3 child as well. Hope it all goes ok.0 -

Hi Ally,
Thanks for the warm welcome.
Yes i have noticed a few people keep mentioning Quidco, but in all honesty never heard of it before.
Yes we have a sizeable garden so come the summer I could give growing my own a whirl. I an not adverse to it although I don't have green fingers normally

Hi WBL,
Thanks it took some time as many of the windoes would hardly open or close so had to refit some. But glad its done now.
Yes we have put some big curtains up by the front door (which is 95% glass!) so that has made a big difference.

Just a quick update to say the OH gave birth over the weekend to a little baby girl.
Going to have a week off to help her out so should get chance to do some more MoneyMagpie sales (although tempted by Amazon instead as MM offer just 0.30 per cd or DVD.
Big jjobs however will go on a back burner.

Thanks guys, was quite a night. Our local Hospital was flooded and we ended up with an unplanned home birth!
quite scary, but thankfully there were no complications!
Also regarding the energy monitor from Efergy, lovely bit of kit and the software with it makes it very easy to anaylse your usage.
Suprising how much some items use up. Will definitely be trying to cut down our consumption as £31.50 direct debit each money won't cover us for long!

Thanks NG.
Yeah it was quite an ordial especially as our local labour ward was flooded and closed as a result so the next spot was an hour away! so we had no choice but to have the home birth!
On the money saving side of things I have done the following:
Collated all our spare change and will take it to either the bank or one of those machines at the supermarket. Wont be a huge amount though.
Also realised that I had been paying for my old home insurance so had a £71 refund for that.
