Have you been in touch with office fair trading. i have sent another letter by recorded delivery and it was signed for and still nothing, if my father was not dying i would go to the papers. the daily mirror have already done a piece on NIZ and First money direct, But nothing is being done about these companies,Office of fair trading have all my corrispondance to do with this company.i suggust you do the same You need to speak to MR andy sands.
  • I too have been scammed by this company this morning. They at first told me I had been accepted for a loan and the fee to send out the paperwork was £200. They then said that because i was on maternity leave they would reduce the fee to £49.99! I should have known then that they were up to no good. I did ask the guy loads of questions and asked me to give me his word that this was not a scam and he kept assuring me it wasn't a scam. I then did some research about them online and realised I had been sucked in. My bank have said the authorisation code given to me by First Money Direct is not the same one they have and they think they may have tried to take out more than one payment! I have put a stop on my account and have tried to ring First Money Direct to find out what is going on but, as other people have said on her, they can never get through. I feel so so stupid to have been taken in by these people, but it's definitely a lesson learnt. I have reported them to the Financial Ombudsman, who said they will write to them with my complaint and to ask them to refund me the payment I made. I think the saying is right - if it seems too good to be true, it probably is....

PLease ring mr andy sands at office fair trading asap. He is dealing with their licence revoke, i,m still writing letters and still no refund. I telephoned financial ombudsman and was told they have promised them they will refund my money with the 28 days. if they don't i have another form to fill in, they just can't keep getting away with this.

At last i have got my refund of £139.99, NOT FROM FIRST MONEY DIRECT. but from visa payback. Visa got in touch with bank and they could not find nothing for the money taken from my account. So everyone who is owed money from First Money Direct contact your bank whether its a credit or debit card. also i don't think office fair trading are going to do anything about them, i have sent all documents and a permission form to disclose my documents to first money direct at their licence appeal, i received an e-mail from office fair trading to say they have received my permission form, now they are saying they have not received the permission and are not using my documents in the appeal, something sounds fishy to me. At least i got my moneyback.

    the list grows....oh dear..
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

  • Hi all. I'm another person to be added to this ever growing list.

I went through a broker called Leads Valley who processed my £50 brokers fee. They sent me a copy of the application form to me via email to sign along with their terms and conditions. Things were looking bright. Then I received a call from First Money Direct. The polite female asked me all the relevant questions you'd expect until the underwriter phoned me. Eventually he asked for my card num in which following this request lead to a 10 minute debate about me not authorizing any funds to be debited. They said they will debit £199.99 if approved and nothing if I wasn't. You guessed it, I was approved but they took £99.99 from my account. No email as the guy said he would. Leads Valley are now failing to comply with my refund request. How else can I get a loan with a poor credit rating?

Depends on how bad your credit rating is CCJ, defaults, lots of missed payments any of them, mean no loan from any decent lender.

Your bank is your first place, if they say no, then you won't get accepted elsewhere by a decent lender.

There are a few companies who might lend but it will be sky high APR and/or require a guarantor.

If you still want to try a couple of companies Everyday Loans and FLM, both are lenders not brokers. If it is a smallish loan (£1000 or so), you might be able to do it via doorstep collectors, google and try lenders compared to see any lenders in your area.

YOU SHOULD THINK OF EVERY OTHER ALTERNATIVE TO RAISE MONEY NEEDED BEFORE YOU CONSIDER ANY OF THEM HOWEVER.
  • Ok, so I've spoken with my bank Natwest and managed to get my Broker fee returned as part of fraudulent activity and was advised to wait until the fee from First Money Direct shows on my account until a charge back can be returned aswell.

If you're still outstanding payment from First Money Direct, and payment was made via a Visa Card, if it's not been suggested before, call your bank, advise them of the issue, and that you request a Charge Back for that payment, should it be visible on your bank statement.

Still goes to show how I've wasted £100 on a deposit for my car which it seems I will never get...
