I had a phone call from a company First money direct. I had a phone call from them regarding a loan, they said they could give us a loan, they took my card details, and with in 30 mins money was taken from my bank, i telephoned the bank had my card stopped when i realised this could be a scam. The company said i would receive the paper work the next day, i,m still waiting. I made a few investigations my self and was told by Trading Standing office that their credit licence was being revoked.I have written to them to ask for my money back, i,m just waiting for their reply.Has anyone heard or had dealing with this company.

Sounds like you have been done like many by one of the numerous brokers/bogus loan companies.

The nom is they charge a fee (not normally £139 though) and then come up with nothing/or offers of loans which are for far less than you want and for a ridiculous interest rate.

If it is this company. http://www.firstmoneydirect.co.uk/terms.asp then item 13 tells you how you could get your money back.

Stick around I'm sure people can offer some assistance around here.
  • I used to work for this company and currently have a high court fast track summons to collect unpaid wages. I also have a meeting with national tabloid to have a story published about the company.
If anyone needs any information on how to get their money back quicker pm me. Also any other people that have had a similar situation as nanof6 then please contact myself. The more people that come forward about this shady operation the better.
  • my ex had issues with them to... i am sure they were on tv about this scam to last summer...

If it is the company fozmcfc has linked 'item 11' says they will take a £69.99 fee, seems like they may have charged you twice.
  • Sounds like you've been scammed, saw this first month payment thing in another thread recently as well. Have you tried asking your bank to do a charge back?
There's no sense crying over every mistake.
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

No proper loan company charges the first re-payment up front. Sorry - I think you've been scammed.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.
  • fozmcfc would you interested in speaking to a reporter about your situation?

  • OFT announces that First Money Direct Ltd have had their consumer credit license revoked.

It's still worth trying to get a refund of your fees. The OFT may well be overseeing refund activity following the action they've taken.
