I switched from BT to talktalk as result of a tip from here, one word of warning, although talktalk inform BT you are switching, you need to inform BT you wish to pay the standard monthly line rental, or they will continue to charge(they did this to me).
I also phoned talktalk as a result of another tip from here, they matched OneTel's offer, plus they will give me one month free.
Thanks for the great tips, definitely saved me money!

    Thanks lisyloo.

I've just phoned BT and changed to a quarterly DD for the exact amount owing, no more, no less!

The offers have been taken away as the firm have read this board - most of you have hung yourselves by passing the info on!

Talk Talk will cut down your bill. I am on Talk 1 plan and y bill has never been over £5 a month, and this tariff is free!

Make your own minds up, read the small print with one tel and all the others and wonder how long they will last, with TT being back by Carphone Warehouse who we all know is a very reputable company!

Hi. Bit of insider info for you all. The reason the £6.50 offer was withdrawn is due to this website! ...

Difficult to understand TalkTalk's position (I think I can assume the post by "inside info" came from TalkTalk).

Based on Martin Lewis' recommendations on this site and on the discussion board, we can infer that TalkTalk got several costumers from MSE. Strange enough, I haven't seen anyone from TalkTalk saying a word about this.

So, when TalkTalk benefits from this website, everything is wonderful. When they think people abuse their offer, they say they need to make a profit (gets my vote as the most obvious statement on this site).

Maybe this can be a revelation to TalkTalk, but word of mouth works both ways! Specially on the internet age.

First time I heard about talktalk was on this website, which made me sign up with them. I also recommended it to my friends & family.

However, when I noticed (on this website) that OneTel had a better offer, I signed up with them, and then was offered a better deal with TalkTalk. I wasn't told by TalkTalk I shouldn't spread the word.

I'm a happy TalkTalk customer (specially paying 6.50pm for unlimited landiline calls). However, I don't like you blaming this website when you think people abused the offer.

    Happy talking!

I think you are right Villaneme, but clearly if they do work for Talktalk they are not very senior going on their comments!

Why offer something in the first place which is clearly a stupidly too good an offer and such negative impact on profit and moan when everyone try's to get it.

And if talktalk goes bust, their will be plently more fish in the sea to move to.
  • I hardly think talk talk will go bust as it is backed by a very reputable company - so we'll all see.

I do agree with you Aston but at the end of the day people abusing the system, and the firm getting wise to it, the offers have now been withdrawn because they werent genuine

difficult, but what do we do keep it totally to ourselves?

no we get a good deal and recommend it, as stated
talktalk were a bit silly in offering such a deal, perhaps a deal with a lock in would have been better commercial sense

:D I don't know why everyone is so concerned about talktalks offers, they seem to be doing pretty well to me! I phoned yesterday and mentioned onetels offer they immediately put me onto the same deal (10.99 per month- Talk 3) and stated their prices are being reviewed.
