;discussion/3039978]Bummer. Switched to them after Xmas and now they've hiked their prices.
I did sign up when they were offering £100 credit so not too bad.
Any ideas how long before I get that and when can I switch to someone who might be cheaper?
Which tariff did you sign up to? It might be worth looking in to the online saver v8, this will no be affected by an rise and i believe this will be cheaper than any tariff you may be on. (after the price rise)
Also it can take up to 90 days from your supply going live for you to receive the bonus.0 -
I also switched beginning of Jan, however, even with the price increase they are still cheaper than my original provider and I should also get the £100 back.bertie200
2011 - best wins - Coca-Cola Fridge, Galaxy Tablet, Kodak Printer, Roberts DAB Radio, £200 Voucher, John Lewis Hamper, Tassimo Coffee Machine :j:j0 -
I'm on the same tariff, surely it can't be going up by 15%! I thought it had to stay a a certain percent lower than the standard tariff? Is there anyway we can get accurate information, I've tried calling but can't seem to get through!
If guarantee is 2% less than standard tariff but starting price is 16% less than standard tariff when standard tariff is increased there is plenty of rope to play with.0 -
If Maggie Thatcher was actually dead (as opposed to alive but not entirely sure what is happening) I'm sure she would be spinning in her grave at the folly she masterminded. So this is what privatisation has brought us. Not content with letting our fellow countrymen con and rip us off, we now have the French, the Germans and the Spanish getting in on the act. I read the other day that one in 6 of us is now expected to survive to 100. I feel sorry for the one of my sample of 6 that does. I may take up chain smoking and part time lion taming, just to be sure it aint me.0

I have to disagree with you there, if you look at the bigger picture these companies may be owned by the french etc but they employ thousands of people in the UK and also invest a lot on money with in the uk. EDF have over 20,000 employee's in the uk and EON 13,000.0

And where do the profits end up? Storage facilities in the UK? You're not seriously suggesting that if EDF, Spanish Power and EON weren't in the UK energy industry these people they employ would be unemployed? Are you suggesting that we would have the Big 3 as opposed to the Big 6?0 -

EON - FA Cup
EDF - London eye / olympics / Green Britian day
EDF invested £8 million in to the london eye last month.
I just think these companies get a hard time some times and as i say people need to look at the bigger picture but as im sure you will agree we are all entitled to our own opinions.:)0 -

If EDF have been 'ripping me off' by charging me far less than British Gas would have liked to, long may they continue 'ripping me off'. If you want to stick with British Gas you can pretend they are still a monopoly and ignore all the competition.0 -
