Nope, we've resorted to switching off the water at the outside mains.
Whats leaking now is the sodden celing panel.0 -
After sending him ( the kid LL ) the following picture.
He sends a text back saying 'that looks bad, have you called a plumber?'
:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: + Rage!!!
Wanna have a look ?

Told the LL last night he has 24 hours to sort something,
Any bets that he hasn't sorted it yet?
I need to head up tesco and get massive bottles of water, the loo hasnt been flushed properly since tuesday. I have washing/clothes piling up.
I refer you back to my post yesterday at 3.42pm. At the very least keep your receipts and charge this cost to your landlord. You shouldn't be paying for his incompetence!
I feel quite sad actuallyI just wish I was in the position of affording a plumber myself and then getting the money off the LL. but I'm not. I should have money saved up for crap like this, and I havent. *sigh*
I really hope you have managed to get this fixed by now. Let us know, please.0 -
Well.. a little update. Which is more of a rant than anything.
LL got a plumber to come out, Theres a hidden panel in the bathroom to access to the tanks ( i didnt notice, screws where painted over ) anyway, the problem was that the bottom of the cold tank had corroded through
Hense the leak.
So it got replaced, in doing so the plumber had to hack away at some pipework to fit the new smaller cold tank. In doing that he's removed our hot water stop valve ( i found it, it was behind the panel next to the hot water tank )
We have such low hot water pressure now, its driving me nuts, I mean it flows out, but its taking well over half hour to get a decent amount of hot water in the bath
I cant change the pressure as theres no flipping valve
Our ceiling.. well.. LL hadnt replaced it, he got some scraps of wood, and 'bandaged' it up.
LL has made it no secret that there gonna have to sell at the end of the year ( when our contract is up ) So my guess is he's gonna slack and hopefully try and get away with it..
Am wondering, who can I go to about the mess thats been made of our ceiling ? Would the Landlord's Association make them put it right ? ( possibly more of a question for the buying/letting board tbh )0 -

If the plumber installed the new tank in the same place as the old tank, there should be no reason for the "low pressure" and the presence or absence of a valve will not alter the pressure - If your bath takes half an hour to fill, then there's some other problem, maybe some obstruction in pipes left by cowboy plumber?

If he's going to sell, he will lose money by having a botched repair, you could tell him and see if that makes him consider doing it properly
