I've got a Philips DigiSender and it's been great these few years. Yes, it's not up to HD standards and can freak out a little with microwaves, but for some, cabling is just too difficult.

I have noticed that my XBOX360 also interferes with the sender, something to do with the wireless controllers and the console itself, constantly sending out a wireless signal, looking for the controller. Just a note for anyone who, like me, has the XBOX upstairs and also wants a digisender.

But I've got another TV in the spare room now so I'll be buying this today from Aldi regardless. A great price to fix a complicated problem.

I bought one of these last night from the Chorley branch, pleanty of senders & dvd players there.

Set it up quite easily, works very well, transmitting to upstairs no problem. Also have Wifi internet & that has had no problems.

I am using it to control my JVC HDD/DVD/VCR, which in turn controls my Telewest Scientific Atlanta 4000DVB cable box.

So I can view cable, play a dvd, play a vcr or play something I recorded off the hdd in my bedroom!

I just need to find a way of splitting the scart output from the HDD/DVD/VCR as I have to unplug the TV for the sender to work.

Yes, I have a few. Performance definitely depends on location. Works perfectly in my daughters bedroom which is directly above the transmitter but I have problems in my son's room where I think my wireless network causes interference. Tried all channels but still get the same problems.

    Good value for £20 though.
  • Empire Direct sell video senders for 14.99 i think Bought one for my new flat the other day. Great picture quality. had to change the channel my wireless router transmits on though.

I got one today (after seeing the ALDI specials newsletter that I get)

Eventually when I got it setup, its working perfectly. The transmitter is on the tele stand, middle shelf, next to dvd player, no room on top, dont look good with that technosonic lcd 32" I got from woolies :)
Works fine with tele upstairs, no loss of quality or sound

Only drawback was, I thought my cable box (analogue) has a/v ports. Alas it dont, so its currently connected to the tele. It does mean, I have to leave the tele switchon though :(

But cant complain for 20 notes

Also got the 2gig toshiba flash memory too. Looks a right nice unit plus 5 yr warranty, u cant go wrong with £23 quid!!!

Oh, and Ive got a wireless router - and no interference whatsoever

Don't spend five pounds to dry clean a shirt. Donate it to the charity shop instead. They'll clean it and put it on a hanger. Next morning buy it back for two pounds.

The receiver box has a connector that uses a normal "flylead" - the sort that connects the VCR to the TV.

Also, the transmitter replaces the Scart coming out of the SKY box -
A supplied lead goes from the source device (sky for example) to the transmitter, and another from the transmitter to wherever the scart was connected to.
  • Got one and wired it in today, refused to work, the got it working, started to tidy up the cabling and then it died again - refused to transmit a signal

It's gone back and I've reverted back to my tesco one. Altho I have to say that when it was working, it appeared to have a better picture than the tesco one.
