I have one ...must admit i have not used it that much but when I did it was really powerful and did the job!;)I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes0 -
Hi skintchick,
There's an earlier thread on food processors which may help so I've added your thread to it to keep the suggestions together.

hiya im also looking to buy a food processor, found in the new argos book, the Rachel Allen range of domestic appliances, there is a food processor for 69.99 and has 1000 watts and lots of attachments discs etc cat no 422/2853 page 697 in the autumn/winter 2008 book
this looks good to me, price and attachments, i know if i had the money the kenwood chef or other pricier model mentioned, but 70.00 seems an ideal first starter for me , anyone bought it already and using it, or what do you guys think,
many thanks ciao for now MAZSealed Pot Challenge member 1525

Sorry to hijack the thread but was looking through the lakewood catalogue and saw the Kenwood Multipro compact for £44.99. Has anyone any feedback on this?
Thanks for the info Maz on that range in the argos catalogue, i'm off to take a look.:starmod:C'est la vie:starmod:0 -
I dropped my food processor lid on the (tiled) floor & a bit broke off.
A new lid is over £30:eek:
http://www.spares2go.co.uk/browse-PHILIPS_LTD-hr7727-MAIN_BOWL_LID-m155-p4248-s159082.htm
This is the only place I can find
Its a Philips HR7727, it didn't cost much more than £30 donkeys years ago:rolleyes:
Shall I buy a new one, or does anyone know where to get lids cheaper?0 -
Hello Mrs E, Had a quick shuftie for you as well. It seems the processor is now longer avalb? Seems such a shame to bin for the lid, but yes £30 wow!!! Wonder if its worth putting an ad on 'Freecycle'? Could you do repair job with some super glue? I'd be so loathe to buy a new one too.0
-
I guess I will have to buy a new one, as even if the superglue will hold it, it won't survive the dishwasher. Might be a biy unhyginic anyway.
Any advice on a (cheap) new food processor.
I only use it for chopping onions, tomatoes, digestive biscuits & bread and & blending soups in the main.
I would like a nice big bowl though.
My old one was cheap & lasted about 8 years so I can't complain.0 -
I have a Braun Multipractic which I have nursed over the last 15 years through two new lids and a new bowl and I will grieve when the motor finally goes. I have somehow always managed to get spares from a place called Chiswick Electrics which does mail order - might be worth a try?

Hi MrsE,
I can't recommend a model because my food processor is 24 years old but it's a moulinex so I would recommend that brand.
These threads may help though:
