Help choosing food processor
Comments

I've got the Kenwood Multi Pro which is around £70 in Argos. I've had it around 18 months now and I use it several times a week. It has loads of attachments, some of which I haven't used but most of them are used on a regular basis.
I spent ages deciding whic one to get and decided on a mid priced one as although I longed for the Kenwood chef I wasn't sure that I'd get as much use out of it as I planned. Now I know that I'd get my use from it, should the trusty old Multi Pro decide to pack up, I'd definately go for the Chef.0 -
Hi Fozz,
There's an earlier thread on choosing a food processor so I've added your thread to it to keep all the recommendations together.
These threads may help too:
Recommendations for a food processor/blender for under £50 please

Do I need a food processor as well as a Kenwood Chef?

another vote for kenwood
I have one of these http://www.johnlewis.com/230196965/Product.aspx which is great for small quantities of nuts, to make pesto, sauces, puree soups/ sauces, make mash, whip egg whites etc etc i've also made bread crumbs but you can't make large amounts, more like 1/2 slice at a time. which isn't necessarily a problem for me.
I also have one like this http://www.johnlewis.com/230419554/Product.aspx good for hummus, grating cheese, juicing but obviously takes up more space.
not saying buy from JL just nice shot links for people who don't know how to hide them in posts, ie me!0 -
I bought this one from John Lewis via Quidco. I've only used it for crumble and blending soup so far (I've only had it a couple of weeks), and it's done the job.
As an earlier post said though, there's nowhere to store the bits, so ATM I've got them in a big box under the kitchen table
BTW, John Lewis are no longer working with any cashback sites - they said it wasn't fair that a few customers were getting a better deal than the majority. I must've got my order in just in time. I don't know how they intend to make sure all their customers get a fairer deal though - they've increased the price on this model by £5 since I bought mine.some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it0 -
Thanks for your advice, have decided for the moment to get a decent hand blender with a cup (a Kenwood one!) as I have so little space in my kitchen.
That should be enough to do what I want, one day I'll get a Kenwood Chef I hope!!!0 -

If you fancy a stick blender with a chopper attatchment, (which turns the blender into a kind of mini food processor) I would probably opt for the Phillips HR1363 (cat no 421 9914 £24.97)
................
Am thinking of going for the HR1363, was wondering if anyone has had problems with it or would recommend it? It looks OK for my requirements but don't want it to be one of those that seems to break after 2 uses!
Many thanks0 -
Hi, there  I'll add this to the existing thread on choosing a food processor to keep ideas together.

Today my new Magimix 4200 in satin arrived. Its gorgeous!!! I didn't get a bad deal either: House of Fraser have it for £199.99 but I got 7% - £13.01 cashback through Quidco and theres £10 off your first House of Fraser too! Free delivery. Ends up £176.98.. not bad compared to John lewis at £219!
Hope this helps!£2019 in 2019 #44 - 864.06/20190 -
OK, so my soup thread has brought home to me that I really need a food processor.
We are not poor (thankfully) and can afford up to £100 to get a good one that will serve us and, in the future, little Skintys too
So. What would you recommend? I want to blend and chop, it needs to look nice AND not be too big to go in a cupboard, as I don;t have any worktop space in our current house.
If you had £100 to blow on one, what would you buy?:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j
