Do any food processors mince meat?
Or do you need a mincer for that?
Decided on a 2.9 or 3 lt bowl (can get bigger, but not very space saving or money saving).
The MOST important thing is quick to get out, use & chuck in the dishwasher, anything else is a bonus (especially a mincer).0 -

.... just a thought, if you are near an argos (or similar) you could always look at the products and get a sense of the size difference to know which one is for you.
lets face it, if 90% of the time the smaller one will do, go for that - cheaper, smaller to store etc. The 10% of the time you need the larger capacity you can just do the processing in two batches....
let us know what you decide
I've been looking for a new one & what you say makes a lot of sence.
Not just because of money, but for space/storage.
I will go for the 2.9 or 3 & forget the really big one I was looking at

Try a 'want it now' post on ebay for your part - someone out there may well have the same machine, but with a broken motor - perfect marriage!Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0

Well that was back in August last year and I must say its been one of the best buys I've made. It works so much better than any other processor I've had. I would recommend the magimix if you can get a good deal.£2019 in 2019 #44 - 864.06/20190 -

If you want the little sausage shaped squiggles, you need a mincer or a mince attachment.
However, any processor with a blade & bowl will give you rough-ground meat, which is just the same as mince, although it may not have that squiggly appearance.
Just pulse it though and be careful. If you over-process it, the meat will be ground to a mushWarning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -

I've done that before & mushed it:o
Do many brands or processors come with mincers?
You can tell I don't know much about food processors can't you:o:o:o0 -
Ive been thinking of investing in a food processor and i was wondering if there is anything that makes one better than another as they seem to go from very basic to all singing and dancing. Any tips? will the cheap ones work as well as the expensive ones?November Wins: 50p voucher Danone

I guess it depends on what you want to do with it.
I inherited my dads one but I rarely use it because I have a hand blender with attachments that does pretty much what I'd use a food processor for. I only tend to get the processor out if I need to make a big batch of breadcrumbs, or for one or two recipes that call for having a lot of the ingredients chopped up or blended together. My hand blender is a lot easier to clean too.0 -
I bought a food mixer that does pretty much everything and guess what I don't realy use it.I think I've used It once and that's it.
I tend to use my stick blender and hand mixer that has all of the attachements anyway. They do everything I need them to do.
To be honest unless you have a specific reason for buying one and keep it out on the worktop to use I think they're a waste of money when simpler gadgets do the job and take up less space.0
