Thx, something like what you've mentioned I'm looking for, is that what it's called "Stick blender"?
Im new to this home cooking malarky, so I'm looking for the cheapest, and most practical appliance, my signature will confirm why I'm looking for the cheapest.
I looked at Argos, dam, done my head in with the range, and multi task options  the only thing none of the appliances offered, was a massage :rotfl:Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.

Ok - I have had a look in my argos catalogue ...
If you fancy a stick blender for blending (soups), then they offer one at only £3.89 - daft money, but it will not do anything else other than blend soups/smoothies etc. (cat no 421/9488)
They also have a Mini food processor (p1184) chops/slices/shreds/grates at £16.96 (cat no 050/2405)
I actually own the kenwood (422/6842 £24.99 which is a full size processor and is excellent, but may be more than you need right now)
If you fancy a stick blender with a chopper attatchment, (which turns the blender into a kind of mini food processor) I would probably opt for the Phillips HR1363 (cat no 421 9914 £24.97)
So really - the questions are
** What would you like your gadget to do in the kitchen? (other than massage)
**Would you be happy to have more than one gadget to achieve this if the overall price was cheaper? (storage?)
** Are you looking for mini or full size gadgets? (amount of food to be processed)

The main difference between the food processors is capacity.
.... just a thought, if you are near an argos (or similar) you could always look at the products and get a sense of the size difference to know which one is for you.
lets face it, if 90% of the time the smaller one will do, go for that - cheaper, smaller to store etc. The 10% of the time you need the larger capacity you can just do the processing in two batches....
let us know what you decide0 -

I use a mouli grater for breadcrumbs also for cheese. Use to have a huge kenwood mixer with all the attachments but they took up too much room and were also a faff to clean so gave it away on freecycle.0

Hi angie
Just to let you know, I purchased the one above from Argos.
Many thanks for your help :A
Cool - hope you get on with it
You can use it for all sorts - currently I am in the habit of turning cabbage/carrots into coleslaw (using 'fake' mayo - fromage frais, white wine vinegar etc etc) and it can grate and chop its way through loads very quickly - it certainly will cope with breadcrumbs!0 -
