Also,it may be worth taking a screenshot of their facebook page, where on their "about" (on the left)it states they are an "Officially recognised gold buying centre",I strongly suspect there is no such thing.also report them to facebook.

Just posted this on the bottom of another thread but thought i would start my own.

Having a problem with the above company. They currently have a big wad of my money and i have no wedding ring.

Ordered 1st January and told it would be despached in 5-7 days. Had various excuses and lies from in the weeks afterwards and still have no product.

From about 2 weeks ago I have been unable to contact them on the phone, by email or by leaving voice messages.

Just phoned the British Jewellers Association and found out they had their membership cancelled on 3rd November 2011.

    Any help would be appreciated.

If you paid by credit card, simply make a section seventy-five claim with them. If it was a debit card, find out if your provider will offer a chargeback.
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark

We had already sent Nuttalls a formal letter, (which is what I meant when I stated that we had threatened court action) and had given them 7 days to pay the refund. All we got by way of a response was another evasive email, saying they were 'monitoring the situation' and would revert to us again shortly when they had more info. Realising that this was yet another 'fob-off' we have now gone down the route of issuing proceedings through 'moneyclaim.gov.uk' We are therefore now more hopeful of getting our money back and will report again if and when this happens.

Surely a quicker way is to make a section seventy-five claim, or a charge-back.

We cannot make either a seventy-five claim or a charge back as the original money settled to Nuttalls was made through PayPal and it is unsurprising now to find that the Nuttalls website no longer shows Paypal as one of the accepted ways of settling funds to them. Before anyone says anything, we did contact Paypal with a view to seeing if that was the way to go to get the money back. But the 45 days that Paypal allows you in which to launch a claim came to an end while we were still under the impression that Nuttalls was going to keep to their originally stated terms and conditions. Nuttalls had kept us waiting just long enough for the 45 days to elapse, after which, Paypal wouldn't take any action.

Was that letter titled letter before action?

I think you'll find Browns of Chester is an entirely legitimate Department store, part of the Debenhams chain and therefore not related in any way to Nuttalls of Chester.

They are connected to 1 Stop Gold Shop and Chester Pewter - don't use Nuttalls Of Chester unless you actually want to lose the will to live. They are the epitome of poor customer service.
Using my phone to post - apologies in advance for any typos

They are not a shop with premises,,,anyone need some legwork done in the area i live nearby,,pm me,,,good luck all.
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.
