Grout tends to be quite absorbent so I wouldn't have expected it to have brought it back to white. Try some scouring powder and a toothbrush or maybe a paste made with some bicarb.
Sugar soap is good for cleaning hard surfaces like floors and paintwork or anything greasy in the kitchen but be careful of your hands, as it's really stripping. I always wear rubber gloves when using it0 -
Hi camelot
I recall sugar soap as being great at cleaning tiles, but not necessarily cleaning grout. There is a thread about cleaning grout here. Do read through and see what other ideas there are.
I'll add your thread to the sugar soap one later
thanks

Many thanks, will check the grout thread although now I have looked the grout isn't too bad but the tiles are sparkling!!
I must have got the wrong end of the stick when I read about it the first time (no surprise there then!)
Thanks all.0 -
Just a question on this product as I am going to be moving house soon
Can I use it on laminate flooring and to try and get some stubbon black tide marks off our bath?0 -
I bought some sugar soap today. I was unable to buy the powder anywhere and had to resort to the liquid concentrate. It was £4.50 and you add 5 capfuls to a gallon of water. Will this still work the same as the powder form.
Thanks0 -

Sugar soap is sugar soap, whether it is 4 years ago or nowActually, it was funny to see you posting in it as i recognise your name from being the starter! I love sugar soap!:j
Nat - hmmm, don't know. I think personally the abrasiveness of the powder helps it along a lot. AFAIK i got the box from a wallpaper store for less than a pound
Actually, must get it out and scrub me tiles!:oA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

THanks OP for reminding me about Sugarsoap. I need to have a really good spring clean, and is just the thing to get my house sparkling, and sticky fingerprint/crayon mark free (hopefully!).0
