qouting from ---- iris blue----I've had the Baby jogger city twin mini since the end of last year and it's fab. I love it. It's really light and easy to push. I even push mine one handed! Its so easy to fold too. No problem getting through doors at all - it just fits! My back doors a problem but that's a smaller than normal door. ---- quoting from iris blue

THANK YOU - iris blue was looking for someones opinion on this who had the pram.

I think ive finally settle on def getting the city mini its just seems to be more practical than anything else.

Just the car situation making us wanna scream at the moment we really want something that can fit 3 car seats on the middle row then my 14 yr old stepson can go on the back seat.

firstly congrats to all those expecting now.........it's nowhere near as chaotic or expensive as it's made out to be. My twins were born when my eldest was 13 months and he was still bottlefed then due to development delay, The twins were mostly breastfed for the first 6 months but one had an occasional bottle as she seemed to need more than I could produce at times. At the time we lived in a 2 bedroom flat so space was tight, remember that most of the baby stuff they can share, ie one baby bath, one changing mat etc. For the first couple of months the twins shared a cot as they wouldn't settle if they weren't close to each other, I found side by side was fine when they were tiny (in those days they were swaddled, not sure what the current advice is on that) and when they got a little bigger they shared a cot, feet towards the middle and a head at each end.

They're now 17 and tbh more of a handful now than they were then.

We had twins when DD1 was almost 7 and DD2 almost 3. Mum gave us towards the push chair and we already had a silver cross pushchair and a buggy which we used if there were two adults going. I was also able to put a buggy board on once they were bigger again, they took turns on that!

We did have to get another car and plumped for a multipla as the boot was a better size than many and it was the best in price too.

We stayed in a two bed flat till they were two and a half - first 6 months in with us then we changed rooms and they went in to the master bedroom altogether. We used a high bed - already had. A toddler bed - passed on to us. A travel cot - already had. And a second travel cot that we bought when reduced.

When they were in our room we used a moses basket and the carry cot from the pushchair that we had had from the older girls.

We used their car seats for them as seats in the livingroom whenever needed and we bought a second folding booster and used them as high chairs on dining chairs.

When they were 2 and half we moved to England where DH had a secondment and when we moved back up in 2005 we were back in the two bedroom flat for about 8 months. This time we had a set of bunks, the same high bed and the same toddler bed we had been using all along.

I won't say it was easy but it was do-able and we had the advantage of a huge master bedroom and a double second bedroom albeit a tiny dining room kitchen and not very big living room.

I did manage to feed them for 10 months, exclusive for a while then mixed. I held two bowls with a spoon each for solids and we did terry nappies with nappy nippers and velcro fleece wraps.

You'll work out routines and codes to suit you eg if it was blue it belonged to B. . . . .y. And T1 always fed from right side and T2 from left (to do with one ring being worn on right hand and two rings on left hand!). We did common drawer - still do that in fact ie all clothes worn by either child.

My point is, you can manage with what you have with the right attitude. . . and being organised helps ;)

Twins are special - I know singletons are too but the world of twins is different. Just as much fun and just as much work!

There's a load of information on the internet and I think someone has already mentioned TAMBA. I went to the group for a bit before ours were born with my toddler just so she could get the idea :)

You have an advantage in that actual baby care isn't new to you, it's just that there are two this time! Take advantage of all the help you are offered, little things like hanging out washing, folding clothes, peeling the potatoes etc. Cook when you can and re-heat when you need it.

One thing we did was when DH went back to work he first went Thursday and Friday rather than going back on a Monday and the week stretching before me like the next century!

My last comment - get used to the questions from everyone!

    Ok congrats to you both!
I went for our scan for what was going to be our 3rd child and found out we were having twins-OMG! From 2 children to 4 in 1 hit!
I too went thro the happy but scared emotionally and financially thing, and we were stuck as going from 3 children to 4 meant we couldnt fit in our car and had to buy a 7seater. All the other financial things also ie we had 1 of everything already, and didnt want to fork out for lots of new things when we knew this would def be the last time:rotfl:. And the fact of two lots of everything on top of the expense of the other two children....So we brought a new double buggy and the 2nd hand people carrier and then did what many on here said, found 2nd hand moses basket for £5 on netmums, got some bits on freecycle, 2nd bouncy chair for £10 on gumtree etc and borrowed pricey things off friends...like borrowed 2 bumbo seats for about 3months and then gave them back when we were done. Nappies, once they got to size 2 i swear by lidl nappies, so much cheaper and fantastic-my two still in them at night now. You just have to take things in your stride and be as laid back as poss-not being bathed every day etc wont harm a newborn baby, neither will going to a school run in a babygro etc!

My children were 5, and 3 (only just) so i had to be at school at 8.40 for school, then up again at 11.30 for nursery pick up and again at 3.30 for school pick up
was a mad and crazy time, a 2hour turnaround for feeds and nappies etc but it was doable. Like everyone says, you cope somehow.

Tamba (message board is great) was good and def your local twins club-nice to meet other twin parents and also things like 2nd hand sales where people have 2 of the same thing etc are helpful.

Good luck my twins are 3 now and things are much easier and they play together so cutely on the seesaw etc and do love each other tons.
