Hi OP,
I have to share what's happened to me this week. On wednesday morning I logged on here and read your post about twins just before going off to my scan (for my 1st baby) and I discovered that guess what "there's two". I think everyone in the waiting room thought I was mad- went between laughing hysterically with my OH to crying.
We too have major financial issues with this but Im just trying to take a deep breath and telling myself 'it will be ok'. Still finding the whole think rather funny- sure that'll stop once I see the cost of childcare:eek:+ we have my OH has 2 DDs who we have every weekend- it's gonna be a mad house
When are yours due? Mine are due 15th august0 -

I am getting used to the idea and I now love the fact I have 2 growing inside if me, all this in the space of a week.
To cut along story short my partner was laid off this fri which makes things appear worse for us but im trying to stay calm not get stressed. We need a bigger car bigger house and have 3k on a CC to clear but we can only do what we can and thats the attitude im having to develop as long as my babies r healthy thats all the matters xx
you will have to keep me posted would love to hear how you are getting on£322.00/£3500 - CC - 26/04/110 -
I wouldn't take much notice of your due date. My twins were born at 35 weeks, I was meant to go in to be induced the day after. As it was I was in hospital 4 days prior because my waters broke!
I have been told 35 weeks is fairly typical.
You'll be treated to lots of scans, I had one every two weeks from 21 weeks (no appointments at all before then - the system lost me  bit of a shock to find out that late on
) then one every week from 28 weeks I think. How I looked forward to wednesdays

Firstly CONGRATULATIONS on expecting twins!!
I have ID twin girls who are 5 yrs old now. They are our first and will prob be our last. Life will never be the same again!
) As others have said, once you have scrapped yourself off the ceiling with shock then take a look at TAMBA and twinsclub as they offer info and have message boards full of parents with twins of all ages etc.
Up until the twins were about 9 months we had them sharing a cotbed. Depending on finances have a look at the nearly new sales, ebay, carboots, internet sites for some good deals on buggies. We had a Jane Powertwin and that was our only buggy, where as other twin mums I know had a tandem/side by side buggy and they also had 2 single buggies as well as another twin one...worked out very expensive for them whereas we decided to buy and invest in one that would see them through to walking properly.
I am a twin and when we were born my sister was 2 and apparently she helped out quite abit with the feeds etc.
If you need any more info etc then please feel free to PM me. Where about are you? I am in Herts.xx
Also when you get further on in your pregnancy find your local twins group.0 -
Thank you !!
Us too are hoping to top n tail r twins but we have seen conflicting advice on whether to top n tail feet to either end of cot or to get a cot divider and have feet to that and heads at the top (if you get what I mean)
The pram I have been looking at and looks to be the one Im gonna go for is the Baby jogger city mini. Its also affordable as well as will fit into the car.£322.00/£3500 - CC - 26/04/110 -
O.M.G. SDK 1985 I think you are me!!!!
My OH was officially made redundant on friday- 2 days after finding out about the twins, although he will be taken on by the new company as his went into liquidation.
I was told not to expect to get to the 15th of august expect some time towards the beginning of august to expect them but to take contractions seriously if earlier as they may well be sooner. Also told I was unlikely to work past 28 weeks:eek: which is May- Im a teacher- had full intention to work to end of July term before discoverig twins
My OH has 2 girls who we have often so we need a bigger car, thankfully house is ok though- just!!!
Was also planning on getting a 2nd hand baby jogger city mini or silvercross pop and then, once they're 6 months', use a phil and teds ( my dad's offered to buy it)- then it can be used a single as well
we have alot in common0 -
Hi
This is my first post but I've been lurking for ages. Congrats on your twins news. I have 10 month old boy and girl twins, they are great although its very hard work. Already having a child at least you know whats coming. These were my 1st so it was a bit of a shock. Anyway if you need any advice just message me.

Lol thank u mrscree
Hrv I'm now looking at the baby jogger city elite seems more solid but is more expensive so hoping t get a second hand one.
Find myself worrying a lot lately bout money since he been laid off. I need t chill out but I can't help it. Job centre doesn't care bout the stress part suppose there just doing there jobs but they can't tell us if We r gonna get anything cos im working 16hrs minimum wage. We have t wait n c but that doesn't help.
Fingers crossed base rate stays low which makes mortgage manageable
Sorry having a moan this morn£322.00/£3500 - CC - 26/04/110 -
Hi,
Congratulations!
I've had the Baby jogger city twin mini since the end of last year and it's fab. I love it. It's really light and easy to push. I even push mine one handed! Its so easy to fold too. No problem getting through doors at all - it just fits! My back doors a problem but that's a smaller than normal door.
They were selling them off at Boots at Christmas so have a look around. I got mine from Kiddicare with the cosytoes which are alot of money but at least then you can fold the pram with the cosytoes on. Kiddicare did a price match for me on the cosytoes as they were cheaper elsewhere.
The elite one didn't have as good reviews as the city mini when I was looking, but maybe that's changed?
Good luck
xI can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -
Me and OH work lots of hours and unfortunately I have to go back to work after the twins are born- am v scared coz everyone I speak to seems to think im mad- I may be but I have absolutely no choice- due to the maintenance we pay for OH 2 dd we cant pay our bills on his wage- worked out about part time but after childcare I wouldnt end up taking home enough to pay the bills- if I give up we're still entitled to no tax credits- we're just 1800 a month worse off coz I wont be working.
Im in a catch 22 situation- cant work nights as OH is frquently away and as a teacher the hours are set ( work in early years so no tutoring possibility either)
Any twin mommies on here who went back to work full time? I really need to hear it's possible. Feel so worried:(0
