How much are people paying for an oil & filter with a flush?
I always take my car to a garage to get this done, don't want to attempt it myself.

Depends on the car in question and the garage used.
If you are supplying your own items (5L oil = £20, filter = £5), I'd have throught they'd only need to charge you half an hour labour which depending on the garage could range from £25-50. If they supply the items, it's likely a premium would be charged.0 -
National do Oil & Filter changes for £30 and a flush for an extra £8 on their website.
They can't get that wrong, surely?0 -
You could do it yourself easily enough but its not worth it, you then have the added hassle of disposing of the waste oil, apparantly you cant pour it down the grid anymore its not allowed.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

I use an oil extractor vacuum pump which means you can do the job from under the bonnet.
Many council recycling facilities - I still call them tips - will take waste oil.0 -

Oh yes they can they did one for me a few years ago on a focus and the "mechanic" forgot to put the sump plug back in and wondered why it was taking so much oil to get it up to max on the dipstick. He covered the floor with oil :rotfl:
Then when i drove off about a mile later wondered what the scraping noise was .He hadnt put the under engine cover back on properly.I didnt go back to them ever again
I do it myself now its the only way you know its done properly0 -
National charge £55 for oil suitable for my car (0w40 fully synth which is overkill - it just needs 5w30 fully synth but they don't offer it as an option)
Local place will do it for £33.50 though - pleased with that because it'll suck up 5.5L of oil :rotfl:0 -

Well I've booked it in now. Had this kind of problem a number of years ago with Kwik Fit.0
