There is no "option", "plan" or "bundle" numbered 2, that costs £14.99 and has no 12 month contract, whereas posters 'Derrick' and 'the gasman' both say they are on this option 2????? I am confused.
Possible 'the gasman' is on Plan Three seeing as he can only get 1MB?
I am currently on PLAN TWO and it costs £17.99 for (up to) 8MB broadband, no phone calls and no contract.
The virgin offers have changed. They did offer a bundle last month at £14.99 with no 12 month contract, though they did threaten a £50 cancellation charge if the service was taken for less than 12 months. The speeds with virgin have been a general cause of complaint over the last few months, see DSL ZoneUK for feedback on this.0 -
I'm on Plan 3 (no contract) and they gave me a free upgrade to 8mbps. Shame I can only get 1.1mpbs here.
I still haven't switched to Bundle 3 but am very tempted.OD Girls On TourBarcelona 2008 - Dublin 20090 -

Appologies Roger. Slip of the finger.!!!
I am on plan 2, £17.99 per month, no contract but due to my phone line i can only receive 1Mbps. I have applied to have faster speed broadband, but suspect due to my distance from the exchange and age of phone lines 1Mbps will be as good as it gets.
Once again appologies for misleading you all.0 -
I'm with Virgin and have been for a year and have been happy with it.
Can you tell me how I can tell what speed I'm actually getting?0 -

I've been using OneBill Telecom as a phone supplier for quite a while and they
have now introduced a Broadband & phone package.
Basically for about £31 per month you get up 2-8mb Broadband( depending on your exchange), Free unlimited telephone calls to any UK O1 or 02 number 24/7.( limited to 60 or 72 mins per call, l can't remember exactly)
And the line rental is included ... emails are included and so far ??..
its all been very reiable.. worth a look.. the only drawback ??? is a 18month. contract ..
PS.. For info My experience of VirginNET is similar to most ISP's inc PIPEX
, my previous ISP... all is good as long as its working and they are taking your money.... when it all gone wrong then your find how good they REALLY are !.
I.E Pipex took a monthly payment 2 weeks after I transferred (4 months ago), and I'm still fighting to get it back !.. and Virgin ..welll best not go there !!! ;-(
take care all .

I am on option 2, £14.99 per month, 3 Gb download, 1 Mg speed and NO 12 month contract
If you got to your link, then click on "internet access" top left, you will also go to a page that gives the same info.

I have just switched to Virgin's Bundle 3 (£9.99 a month).
I had no problems getting my MAC code from my old ISP - they e-mailed it within 2 days. Virgin sent a text to confirm they would connect me within the next 5 days; meanwhile, a free broadband modem, cables and two ADSL filters arrived in the post.
Today Virgin texted me again, to say that the conversion should be done today. I installed the CD software that came with the modem, followed on-screen instructions, and everything installed fine.
Had a sticky moment after re-booting - my old ISP was still the default and I could not connect. I spent 5 minutes on the 25p-per-minute helpline sorting it out - and I was rather snappy! Poor bloke on other end got an earful about "is THIS the sort of service I can expect etc". I suppose I was afraid that the call would take 40-mins plus and cost a fortune; it didn't.
So now I am happily online - and I notice that the speed is quicker than my old ISP, it is showing 2.2MBps.
I will let you know if I have any problems! But today, on the first day, I am happy I switched. And it is saving me £15 a month - plus free phone calls.0
