Ooooooh only just got back from town and am feeling rather tired. Got a lovely pair of jeans in the sale for £14 which I desperately needed and a few other odds n ends for the weekend.
Still I really need to get moving and sort the bedroom out, starting with putting on some fresh linen or I won't be sleeping in it tonight.
Dad has been and got his Valentines card for mum (as is usual) and now its time to make a start ..

He used to do that to me ALL the time Piggers... to the point that he would be having little one for me to go to work and he would suddenly announce that he couldnt do it.... or worse - he would just disappear. I moved 500 miles away so I didnt have to put up with his crapola anymore.
Now its just phone calls promising he will stay in touch, promising he will make time to see him when he is in Scotland etc etc. He never does. Last year, about a week before his birthday, LO asked me why Dad never gets in touch, why he never gets a birthday or a christmas, but he has a new family? I didnt know what to say.
He phoned his Dad and asked him - and like always - he promised to send a card and a gift. I knew it wouldnt happen, so I went and and unwrapped one of my own presents and put it in different paper and told him it was from his Dad - purely so he didnt have to go through more heartache.
What gets me, is that poor excuse for a man sat on the end of that phone and listened to that poor child sobbing his absolute heart out asking why he didnt love him - and he STILL couldnt force himself to buy LO a present...
Thats brought tears to my eyes. It's so hard to believe that men bring children into the world then abandon them. I'm so lucky to have a large disjointed family with a DH who loves everyone and has never ignored his emotional or financial responsibilities. When I moan about him throw mules at me because I'm an ungrateful moo.
Had a lovely lunch out with 2 good friends to celebrate a birthday. My friend loved the present I got her (it wasn't a voucher!). It was a very pretty silk scarf from Monsoon because she's worth it.
Another friend's birthday tomorrow (pretty beaded necklace for her) but I'm going shopping with today's birthday girl to help her get a new top for our meal out on Saturday night.
Going to have a HHC tackling the list

Pigpen and Jo, I've just caught up and have read about all the !!!!!! you're going through/have gone through with your KHs. I'm gobsmacked and feel for both of you.
Candygirl, wow, a brew and hula hoops - steady now
Shysarah, great to get jeans for £14! Wish I could get some for that price but I have long legs and it seems like long leg jeans cost far too much! You're sounding really positive at the moment which is fab
Kittykirsty, don't feel you need to be doing stuff if you're off ill - you need to recover and get your strength back. Take it easy.
OrkneyStar, I know how you feel in the damp weather - I broke my collar bone years ago and it still aches when the weather goes damp. Does a heat pad help you at all to keep it warm?
Chunters_a_lot, I know what you mean about feeling unmotivated but that you need to try to keep to the lists because you will regret it if you don't. I'd say just do what you can; every little thing you do is going to help and don't beat yourself up if you just don't feel like doing things. Maybe if you just go easy on yourself you'll find your motivation comes back. By the way, want some of my clutter? I've got loads here !
OK, flying - hmm, well dropped off the bag to CS, walked the dog, didn't mop the floor cos CBA but will do it - honest guv, tidied up and just about to sort washing for tonight and make tea ... tomato soup. I am definitely finding it easier to keep on top of things and what I need to do doesn't take me as long as it used to.Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
Well in my HHC which turned into an hour, I've
Sucessfully pruned and decluttered cookery book collection. Binbags waiting for charity shop to open tomorrow
That's about it really, I had a lot of cook books to declutter!
Off to put some brisket in to pot roast.....Saving up £25000/£3500 by Jan 1st 2012 by selling my clutter. Remember I'm doing it for Dad.
Textiles, languages, travel and a lovely home are not stupid things to want. You have immediate family's support.Appreciate what I've achieved so far. Other people's opinion of me is none of my business.0 -

Thank you, promise I'm taking it pretty easyJust don't want to sit around feeling sorry for myself, so doing bits and pieces when I can.... and a big load of SOAADFA in between
Off to vacuum the hallway now and hope this power foam stuff has shifted some of the muck!:j Ready to take control of my life! :j

Thanks Mumof2, I am feeling a little more positive but that's because I am ever so excited about this weekend. Man and I are going to a friends birthday party in Macclesfield.
Have a travelodge booked and will have a wonderful night together. We haven't really been out as a couple before so (to me) its a big deal and some of the people at the party I know but have never met in real life (chat buddies) so am keen to meet them too. Am a real jumble of nerves tho, tried to tell him last night how it is important as a woman to look good, make the right impression etc.. his answer.. wear your boots and I will be happy!:rotfl:
Also found out during counselling last week there has been some big changes in my dept at work, the boss who was leaning on me has left, the woman who was a bit of a moo is moving departments so things there are changing for the better too. :T
Anyway.. listy

Now time to chill with crochet and come dine with me while I mull over what to do for tea.
xx
ETA - the jeans made me happy too as I had to go a size smaller. Everyone was telling me I looked like I had lost a bit, guess that not bothering to eat when I am down sometimes has its advantages!GC 2011

Well not a lot more done since this morning, but did go round to see a neighbour. Got my 1 hour of peace now, but it's time to start making the dinner and I'm sure half a dozen of things that need to be done. Tell me it's gets easier juggling looking after a LO and trying to keep the house well, let's just aim for not hazardous.Taking one day at a time....I'll get there in the end0
