I fancy one of those. Can you recommend it?

TBH not really. You don't get much compost, I got one tray full today, probably only about 4 a year. You do get quite a lot of liquid feed which I'm quite bad at remembering to use. Not sure how effective it is. In winter when the process is slower I probably put more peeling etc in the compost than in the wormery. it is more effective in summer. Fun though and I continue to use it but in terms of value for money not a great return.

Righto. Clothes sorted, buggy decluttered to the rag'n'bone man (first time in 7 years we have not had one!),

Big event getting rid of the pushchair. Do you get lots of rag'n'bone men? We get one most days and often 2 a day - bit excessive!

Been to Cafe Rouge courtesy of clubcard vouchers.

Finally brought the almond tree :j Need to wait until we have dug the wildlife pond to plant it but pleased I have it.

:j indeed. I have £60 of garden vouchers to use and I want to buy a tree to replace a very ill apple tree that is just too small trunkwise to be covered by the Conservation area protection, half the pleasure is in choosing.

I did some hellebore chopping today in between being tired and doing stuff for other people, lots of things sneaking through - aubretia, bluebells, elephant ears, christmas box, lots of crocuses and my huge (as tall as the house) Camellia williamsii Donation should start flowering anyday. Wonderful stuff.

  • Started going into town for DD to get her hair cut, but she bumped into some of her best friends on the bus, so I was abandoned until 3pm, when she bounced in with some ridiculous feather earrings that the cat has made her mission to murder ever since, some huge sunglasses and various other bits of tat, after taking themselves off to see a movie.

I intended to do slightly more than WM X2, TD X1 and a bit of washing up & put the rubbish out, but dozed off in front of the TV and didn't wake up for over an hour.

Never mind, there's always another day [sigh]

Hiya. Just popped on via my phone to say a massive thank you for everyone's love and kind words. It's a massive support. Two my days of IV antibiotics and hopefully I'll be out of here. First thing I'll be doing is lighting a purple candle for Diva who's in my thoughts. Very sad news. Love to you all and fairy poop for LL - hopefully we'll be back to the fairy dust soon!!

Flying - gave bedside locker a bit of a tidy!!!

    Thanks again x x x

Thanks, dusty. I'm not too worried about not getting much compost. I want to have somewhere for veg peelings etc to go and I don't have a good spot for a compost bin. Not a lot of garden waste, either, but that can go into the green bin, anyway. I've looked into a number of possibilities, but can't make up my mind.

We have a rag'n'bone man come about once a week and their flat bed truck is always full. They had about 4 fridge freezers and 6 bikes that I could see today and I wasn't nosing! It is telling how they started coming again about a year ago. I don't think I saw any in my childhood, just remember them from Steptoe and Son:rotfl:. I remember some years ago having to pay the council £25 to collect a broken washing machine as we had no transport to get it to the skip. Its nice to be able to get rid of dead stuff now without having to pay, also some one is managing to make some money out it. Reduce, reuse, recycle (my boys are almost too old for Bob now:o).

I would love to plant fruit and nut trees here, I hate renting. I have to forage instead. I know 2 nice cherry trees, 1 pear, 1 apple, 2 crab apple, 1 cob nut and about 20 plum trees! Raspberry canes, blackberry bushes. This year I am on the hunt for greens that the dogs haven't peed on! Roll on nettles, cherries and Jack-in-the-hedge! I am ease when foraging.:)

ETA Tea cooked by DS1 and myself, wash up, dry up, wash all cleaning cloths, kitchen floor cleaned, HHI done, childrens baths, hair and ears done, books and top trumps done.
