Cheapest place to buy Global Keratin shampoo/conditioner (and other sodium free)?

The Global shampoo has sulphates in it, so I'm not sure why you wanted shampoo without?I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

Does it really? I am very surprised at that I must say - I hadn't checked as obviously assumed it was the most appropriate product to use. I'm glad I've not bought that now.
From all the research I have done, I understand that to prolong the life of the treatment, you should avoid both sodium and sulphates as much as possible (e.g. http://www.chameleonfridays.com/features/2008/10/03/brazilian-keratin-treatment-faqs/, but most places recommend avoiding both so I am going to be safe and stick to it).
Parabens are another one to avoid but they are not as critical (although the Organix says it is also paraben free so that is an added bonus
).
At least now I can be sure I am not actively washing away my newly frizz-free hair!0 -

Don't believe all you read. The treatment is nowhere near £200 at full price, never mind £500!
I have a lot of hair and was out of the hairdressers in less than 2 hours.
The process was not complex at all. I'm sure I could do it at home perfectly well if I had the product.
It was raining when I had it done and was advised that if my hair got wet I should just blow dry and re-straighten it.
It's just an expensive conditioning treatment really

£500
OMG I didn't know places charged that much for it!! That's ridiculous.
Admittedly mine was a Groupon deal so was at the cheaper end of the scale for £58, but I've looked around and can get it for at least £80 at 'normal' salon prices locally, and even cheaper via a mobile hairdresser (I'm assuming I'll like it so much I'll want it done again!!).
At £80 around every 3 months, I can easily justify it as the amount saved on expensive conditioners and other anti-frizz products will be eliminated.
I've read a lot on how to perform it at home - as it's pretty cheap to buy the solution yourself. You just clarify (wash), apply the product, and straighten pretty much. I am HOPELESS at all things hair and beauty so have to say, I'm happier to let someone else do it, but I imagine most people would be capable of doing it themselves.
I am just shocked that some places charge the amounts you said, as that is totally a rip off.
If you don't mind me asking - which brand of brazilian keratin treatment do you have? Everyone I've had feedback from loves it, so I suspect I will become addicted lol0 -

I had it as a groupon deal too - it was a Global Keratin treatment for £60. Was the first time I'd had it. The hairdresser did warn me that I wouldn't see much improvement because my hair naturally has very little frizz. I'm very happy with it though. Even washed and left to dry naturally it looks much more styled than usual.
The £500 was from your link!
Your treatment won't last anything like 3 months if you swim and wash your hair every day.I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

Ah right I see! Sorry to confuse - the link was just an example of the info about avoiding both sulphates and sodium (although pretty much everywhere I've seen the same advice so I don't want to risk it really).
Unfortunately I can't reduce my swimming (I'm training for the Great North Swim) and I know this will slowly wash it out
I am going to TRY to wash my hair less often though, but I am not sure how I will get on with that. I suppose my hair will feel totally different after the treatment so I may be ok with washing every 2 or 3 days, but right now I just couldn't do that as it'd feel all horrible.
Thanks for your feedback, it is good to hear from someone who has had it done - I don't suppose your Groupon deal was Manchester area? Wondered if it might be the same salon. I'm getting really excited now I just wish Friday would hurry up and come around!!0 -

Nope - South Wales.
Your hair will still get greasy after the treatment. I have a hot head and sweat in the night which makes my hair manky
. Not washing it for 3 days was horrific. The treatment won't change that - it's just a long lasting conditioner, not a genetic alteration! I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

Just thought I'd do a quick post, in case it helps anyone else who comes across this thread in the future.
I did email Organix, to say that although their website says their products are sulphate free, I couldn't confirm if they were also sodium free.
They have just replied to say that yes, they are also sodium free
So I could have done the Boots cheap offer after all - in fact I might still buy a few as I'll need more than what I have bought from Amazon.0 -
How did you get on with your BBD?I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

Great so far! It was the hardest thing ever to not wash my hair for 4 days. I knew I would hate it, but I hadn't realised HOW bad it would be.
As not only was it the 'not washing' which I would struggle with anyway, but add to that the fact that the keratin product was still in my hair weighing it down, and my hair just got greasier and greasier looking every day, and was REALLY itchy on the last 2 days. YUCK!
But, now it is all washed out I am liking it. Normally, I use an intensive conditioner, then when dried I apply a shine spray, Frizz Ease serum, then use a Toni and Guy stick to try and tame any remaining flyaway bits.
Now, I wash and condition with the Organix products, dry, and I'm done! There are still flyaway bits, but they just seem to be the ends of my hair, where maybe it needs an extra trim. But the general frizziness is completely gone, and my hair just feels totally different. It feels silky and in really good condition. Before, I'd brush it and it'd look great, then within 10 mins I'd feel it was messy again. Whereas now, it looks good most of the time
I will be interested to see how long it lasts - I know 3 months is bandied about a lot, but a friend of mine says hers lasted 5 months. However, I will just be happy if it lasts for 3 months for me, as I swim a lot which won't help. However I always wear a swim cap, and before swimming I am soaking my hair, then coating it in the Organix conditioner so as to hopefully protect it from soaking up too much chlorine.
Thanks so much to the person that recommended Organix Hair products. I was pleasantly surprised with them, as not only do they smell delicious. but everything I had seen recommended online, people said that the sodium/sulphate free products product no lather, and so are weird to apply. However the Organix Hair stuff lathers really well and is easy to use.
By the way, the leaflets I was given about after care by the salon, did say any shampoo had to be both sodium and sulphate free, so I'm still confused as to why the Global Keratin's own products have this in.0
