Vodafone changed T&C's which affects me, enough reason to getout?

Spiro,
I understand that downgrade the tariff is only permissed after 9th month. I know that I can not downgrade starightaway. However, within a month into contract the VF cS had confirmed that I could be able to downgrade but only when I complete the 9 months on that tariff. This had been confirmed to me last year by two of VF CS representatives.
I know its only a £5 i could save by downgrading but since I do not use this sim much as my wife who was using this sim no longer needs it, I want to use every opportunity to save. £5 for 9 months is a £45 saving and not a small money. especially when the sim is just lying around there doing nothing. I am only asking for the downgrade which had been promised by Voda representative that I would be able to after 9monts, which is now. And the same Voda reps (Ann above for instance) rap that my plan was never entitled to downgrade and i had agreed to the price plan blah blah blah.
of course I did agree to a price plan. I am willing to pay. I am only askign for something that in the past had been confirmed by the Voda that I would be able to do it around this time.
Anyways, by the looks of it, there are two tiers of Voda representatives workign on here. One grade are the official reps who officially represent the voda and the other in cloak (not you Spiro) to mitigate the issues with side-stepping or whatever they could do.
if Only Voda provides right service to Customers they would not even be requiring two tiers of reps.0 -
If Vodafone were in the wrong, I would not hestitate to back the OP.
The only association I have with Vodafone is as a customer. The OP posted this question on a public forum for discussion and help on this issue.
The conclusion that Vodafone do not allow downgrading on a YPL (Your Plan) tariff has been discussed previously on MSE and the answer is the same as in the two links on the first response.0 -

if you were to be right,
the two voda reps I spoke last year, who clearly confirmed I would be able to downgrade after 9 months into the contract.....
do you want me to forget what the Voda reps over the phone had told me and to believe in the word on a public forum?
I would not need yourself or anybody to support me on this. I only need answers/suggestions from honest other customers who may have been in the similar boat.
If I were on YPL or whatever hte plan (TBH i have not checked on it yet, I would not need to) when the voda reps confirmed I could downgrade last year, and if Ann you were to be true, does that mean the voda CS were just a bunch of jokers sleeping and picking some answer out of thin air? I can assume this situation if only one voda rep had confirmed this, as it is two reps from voda who confirmed this, does that mean most of the voda CS reps are bunch of jokers advising whatever they wish to the Customers. By looking at the enormous no of complaints on just voda here, it should ring some bells to Voda to take a step back and revise their customer handling procedures.....appointing some reps here would not solve the problem unless route cause of the problems (in this case the processes defined with in Voda to blame)has been targetted.0 -

Reads to me more like i want my views proven right even though they are wrong and refuse to listen to those who disagree with me .

As you will have read in the previous threads on MSE, I have given you an an honest answer. It may not be what you wanted to hear, but it is the correct answer.
You agreed the contract, it was up to you to check and double check exactly what you were agreeing to.0 -
The Voda rep has just replied to the following thread on MSE which is the same question being asked on this thread.
Trust that will confirm my honest answer/suggestion from another Vodafone customer.

well Ann,
if you were to be right,

No if needed. Ann is right. If you are on a YPL you cannot downgrade it regardless of what you were told.
A vodafone rep has confirmed it here
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3025608
it also state that before that tarrif you could downgrade the tarrif at 9 months, it could be you were mis informed by the reps of they did not know of the change.
Even if you were told you could downgrade (and I've no reason to doubt you) if that is not wriiten in the call notes then you will find it impossible to prove. YPL were as Anne says introduced in Early 2010, so you are more than likely on them.If I were on YPL or whatever hte plan (TBH i have not checked on it yet, I would not need to)
I would suggest you check what plan you are on, if it starts YPL you cannot downgrade, and thats the end of the story, but until you know what plan you are on this is academic.
If it is YPL then that was the contract you signed up for, so there is no change of T&C's0 -

Try to read the entire post first rather than falling to the trap of Ann to side step the issue.
GJChester,
your answer answers all my concerns and questions.
why do JJ Egan and Ann think they are helpful while not answering my question which had been correctly answered by GJChester?0 -

What exactly is that supposed to mean ?
I answered your question and gave you a correct answer. I have done my best to help you and now you accuse me of sidestepping and accuse jj Egan of 'falling to the trap of Ann to side step the issue'.
gjchester has confirmed to you exactly what I have been telling you since this thread started, but you chose not to listen.0 -
