i carry two knives on or around me on any working day, one is a locking brass and wood handled penknife with a 2.75inch blade which is used for hacking through thick cardboard packaging. I use it because the lock means it will not fold and cut me accidentally. The second knife is a retracting snap off blade knife which probably started at over 3 inches, this also has a locking mechanism to prevent it retracting under pressure. This is used to slice thinner packaging when the less delicate penknife is not suitable.
If i was to be searched, they would be found in my company embroidered jacket pocket along with a pen, a marker pen, a torch, and machinery keys, so even though they could be classed as weapons, they along with the other items should appear to be working tools and considered acceptable:A R.I.P.
