Hi Everyone,
I've just found this thread and I too was a victim of ONLY COMMUNICATIONS. They also tok £100 out of my bank account in error and i incurred £90 worth of charges. The manager stacey brain sent me lots of emails (which i still have) indicating their mistake.
After I spent an awful lot of time trying to get any money back, I decided to contact WATCHDOG over a month ago,
well anyway....
I got a call today from the bbc action team stating that they have had a
WHOPPING 400 COMPLAINTS REGARDING ONLY COMMUNICATIONS!!!!!!!
So looks like they are going to help us out. Luckily I have all my letters, contract, printed out emails etc that I have to send to them and they are going to cover my story and investigate everyone that contacts them.
I can't believe a so called win turned into an awful loss to us all.0 -
Hi guys,
Unfortunately I need to add my name to the list of people that have been conned.
Recently have moved house, so it hasn't been a top priority for me to get it sorted out, but yesterday I sent a request to T-mobile to cancel my contract (using the suggested wording from someone on here)
I actually live very close to one of the earlier named Directors, and you don't know how tempting it is to pay them a visit !! However, I shall resist....
It's a shame to hear that Kiss (Vibe FM) don't want to know about it, even though they pushed the competition at the time.
The only payment I received was a cheque for £35 from OC, but that was after complaining my account had not been credited on several occasions. My wife kindly paid them a visit at their offices in Histon demanding payment, and did not budge until a cheque was handed over. No point doing that again as I read the office is now empty.
If I manage to get my contract cancelled I'll be happy enough, but to get back the previous 4 months would be a bonus. Annoyingly, I don't even use the phone as I already have a contract with Vodafone.
Sigh.............

Hi.
just a quick update. Have managed to get t-mobile to cancel my contract with nothing left to pay; and have received my final bill from them showing the remaining months cancellation fee along with a very nice credit to cancel it all out. So nothing left to pay t-mobile - result .
Also received a cheque in the post today from vibe/kiss to refund the £105.00 not refunded by Only communications.
So i am no longer out of pocket, and no longer tied into a 12 month contract.
Some people here have had problems with the contact at vibe not getting back to them; i cant fault her at all. She has been very helpful, and done everything she said she would.
Although not much, i also have a nokia phone to use as a backup if needed ( i removed the sim lock on it before cancelling with t-mobile, and they currently sell at £60.00 in tesco's)
As i am now free and not out of pocket, i will not be pursuing the matter any further; I did consider compensation/ consellation prize route but can't be bothered any more. It has taken almost 3 months to sort this out, but politeness won through in the end.
I just hope that the directors of Only CON_munications get what they deserve from all this.
Lesson learned. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!0 -
Rang Kiss Friday 22nd to try to get my money back. Spoke to Sally again(who never returns any calls) told her I had got out of the contract with T-Mobile and wanted the money owed from Kiss. She said they had lost alot of money them selves (shame). All she would offer me was half of the £105 .
Reluctantly I agreed so I could forget this scam.
I never listen to Kiss now because of this mess they got me into just for entering a radio comp. I wander how many other people have turned off as well.0 -
I was caught by the scam too, contract started at the beginningof august and have only receieved 1 oayment of £35 back, nurerous phonecalls and emails and responses telling me the money is on the way.
I will contact t-mobile but am also considering contacting watchdogg.
anyone tried this or had any luck getting money back yet?

still waiting for the money to come through.0

A cheque arrived in the post today. Unfortunatley it was for half the amount that I was owed. (£52.25)
I'm Just glad this scam is over, even thou I have lost money out of it. I might see if I can sell the phone on E-Bay to make up the money.
A very disappointed ex Vibe (Kiss) listener.0 -
I spoke to T-mobile yesterday who are discounting the remainder of my line rental to 50% and will do the same as a goodwill gesture for anyone else caught by the csam who phones them up.
I spoke to Sally at Vibe or KISS today who has told me that she is allowed to offer 50% back of what we have already paid out so is sending me a chequeue for £70 but said to allow three weeks for it as it has to go through certain channels.
Vibe have lost a lot of money too and are in the middle of a police investigation trying to catch up with Only Comunications. If they do and are successful we may stand a chance at getting some more of the money back, but they are not promising us.
I had added my name and details to the many of you who have already phoned Watchdog, let hope they catch up with them if Vibe can't.
I guess from now I just see what happens.
Not a complete success but a start and hopefully if we all keep on we might get a result from the police, watchdog or Kiss.0 -
hi
i have also suffered at the hands of only communications:mad they now owe me £210 i have never received anything from them, firstly they said they would transfer the money back into my account, then they said i would receive a cheque, i have had neither, i have written to watchdog, and i am now going to contact vibe, t-mobile have given me 100% discount on the remainder of the contract.
lets all keep on at them and get what is rightly owed to us.0
