Rups, I think the nausea is reduced if you eat pretty much continually. And, in my case, some types of crisps and cake and chocolate really do seem to help....!

iam happy with all that. last week i wanted to continue eating victoria sponge cake and then this girl made a comment that if i keep eating i will be fat. really? hmm i want that now. i could eat cake and stuff i guess. i still want those crisps but must control myself infront of the team. i have tried the bread route but i dont feel anythng different. oh well whatever works for me is what i will have. :)

    hmm coke... thats safe right?

Yeah. Don't go too wild because of the caffeine, but a couple of coca-cola's a day won't hurt (only your teeth!). Unfortunately you can't get a full-sugar, caffeine-free version. If you're not bothered about the sugar, then try Coke Zero which has neither.

Watch your overall caffeine intake, i.e. if you've had a couple of coffees, perhaps have the coke tomorrow. Caffeine's less of a concern after the first trimester I believe. I think the concern is an increased risk of miscarriage. However, it can make you jittery so it's probably best to limit your caffeine intake throughout, particularly if you're prone to palpitations (which I've really suffered with throughout my pregnancy).

If however, you mean cocaine, then no, it's not safe in the least.

That made me snigger quite a lot!

A bit of caffeine will be fine, just don't overdo it. I'm drinking a can of coke to keep me awake at my desk in the afternoon, but I have stopped drinking my usual 7-8 cups of gut-rot filter coffee a day.

And it is terrible for your teeth. But so is all the apple Lucozade I've been drinking, so I don't think I can say anything (plus we get free dental treatment for the next 21 months, so it's not all bad...)

i meant the drink :) i have been pretty good and just have a cup of tea in the morning, which i can just about manager. ewww. i used to love my tea but cut down when i fell pregnant previously. now i think if i get any caffeine, it may be from chocolate although i have heard conflicting info about caffeine in chocolate. some people say there isnt any and some say there is some.

Yup, your maternity exemption card will give you free prescriptions and standard NHS dental care until the baby turns 1. And if you have to get any prescriptions before your card arrives, tell them you're waiting on it and then just get a refund once it comes.

There is some caffeine in chocolate but you'd have to eat a shedload before you exceeded the recommended daily caffeine allowance. Your teeth will have fallen out way before then.

Depends what you've replaced the chocolate with. Fruit, nuts, lean meat and veg? Brilliant. Vodka and cornettos? Not so brilliant.
