  • I've only just recenlty joined the thread, but can't help saying: That's excellent news emsbet! I'm really happy for you!

RebekahR - I hope all went well with your scan today as well :)

Candycane - I have only told my parents because I think they'd be upset if I waited for the 12 week mark. They are under strict instructions to keep it a secret though as we are not telling anyone else until then. I'd be inclined to tell work beforehand, adding that you've not had the scan yet but you just wanted to let them know.

If it was me Candycane I would also tell work prior to going on holiday. Mostly for the reason you gave - you might be showing by the time you get back. I'd always rather tell people than have them guess :), but thats just me and everyone is different.

Yay! Congratulations emsbet - I'm so pleased for you, but on a selfish note, I'm going to miss you on here too. Make sure you keep dropping in like Rebekah has.

Rebekah I hope your 20 week scan went well too lovely.

Still no reply from midwife about my scan date. I'm not sure what hours she works, so don't want to message her again, as she may be off work. I know she'll probably have her phone off if she is. Scan date wasn't in the post today either.

Had a full day of work today - morning class were fine, and it was easy in terms of the teaching, but afternoon class were a nightmare and they had PE! I was very relieved to be getting home at the end of the day, especially as I've been feeling sick all day again. I'm not sure that this is morning sickness though at the moment, as MIL (lives next door) has had a virus recently that was a coldy, and sicky thing where she went off tea (me too), and I feel different to the normal nausea - have also been freezing cold all the time and very mucousy (although this part seems to be have been since I'm pregnant anyway). I'm hoping it's not her virus though, as she's been ill for 2 weeks!

Well I'd better go and wrap my Mum's birthday present, as we're going around there for dinner tonight to celebrate, as it's today.

Hugs for all who need or want them, and postman come quickly vibes for all waiting for scan dates. Sorry to hear about the mess-up at your hospital mishka - hope they manage to sort it out quickly for you. I would also consider putting in a complaint after you were promised an earlier scan too, as the stress this has put you under can't have been good for you.

so pleased to see this news and that they consider you low risk. how was dh at the scan? I did post on 12-24 but wasn't sure if you'd go straight back to main pregnancy thread. they told us at booking in that most first time babies hang on in there so you may be okay for mums wedding - hospital bags at the ready if not, will it be far from home?

(((hugs to all))) looking forward to seeing how everyone else's scans go - whenever you do get dates. must be different in wales as i was given scan over the phone and that included booking in appt then 2 weeks later sent 20 wk scan in post... good luck x

    Hi again everyone

Will be 7 weeks tomorrow... eeek! Still doesn't feel real - really sore boobs and I sometimes think I feel a bit nauseous but nothing major and that's all. I have first appointment with midwife on 22 March. We're off to the Canaries on holiday next week and I am already worrying about something going wrong while we are away :o when I really should just be thinking about what a fab holiday we'll have and how I will be able to relax for a week.

jjbargaingal, can I ask if this will be your first baby? I'm 38 going on 39 and pregnant for first time. Doctor didn't seem worried about my age but I was just wondering how you got on with midwife appointments etc? My mum was almost 42 when she had me, but I was her second, although I guess all those years ago her age was probably a bigger deal than it is now!

Huge hugs to everyone who has had a loss. I feel for you all xxx
Hi Izzy - yes it is my first baby. No they havent been particularly concerned with my age so far as they seem to think I am fit and healthy !! I had the Nuchal scan, and blood tests, but not sure if everyone in our area does. Due to my age having Glucose test in May but thats all so far. Got Obstetrician appt but not sure if that is routine or not, but low risk so far !! Midwife appts have all been ok so far, got next one next week.
Good luck and hope it goes well for you. jjxx :T:T
We got married 17th April 2010 !! A wonderful day with my wonderful husband !! :T

My news is I've been to the doctors my morning sickness/ all the flipping time sickness......it is slowly zapping my will to live. I've had bloods and been given prochlorperazine to take, have not taken one yet does anyone have any experience of these?
Lisaloo - I had prochlorperazine and they worked a treat for me. I'm sorry you are feeling so rubbish

Prochlorperazine did nothing for me. Made no difference whatsoever :(. Hope you have better luck with it.

Student mrs I did see your post. Once I've gotten over my superstitious nonsense regarding the 12-24 week thread I'll come over and say hi :o

No bother, as you can see, I'll chase you til I get an answer! I was quite miffed when I went on there as it is so quiet and also all these pregnancy apps told me I wouldn't hit my 2nd tri until 13/14 wks! Thought I'd banished my fears and now I still worry daily, grr.

anyway, hope you can enjoy the rest of today. I too didn't want a fb announcement but knew my hubby was putting one on as he'd waited so long so put a hopeful one on and then trounced him by getting about 50 comments more than him! he has less friends on there but it still upset him. I only put it on cus it would show up as me married to him and he changed profile pic!

forgot to ask ages ago, did your sister clock when you didn't drink at spa? they must be over the moon for you :)
