Glad your scan went well sunshine.

Laura, thought of you today (I hope it was you saying about this!) when I noticed I also have a little blood spot on my boob!!!

DH is on nights tonight so I'll be settling myself down with homemade pizza and the TV remote soon! He had his pizza already but I'm still full from lunch, I went out with MIL and her friends and it was very nice!

Hi all. Hope everyone is well.

We have the PILs staying at the moment so we told them the news. Now, I know we've had two mcs in the past, but they went totally silent, FIL crossed his fingers at me, and that was it! They've not mentioned it since. Is it me, or is that VERY odd? I feel quite upset. i thought they'd be happy.

Skintchick sorry your PIL were not more positive. We had a mc and although both sets of parents were cautious they have both been positive about the situation. Maybe they are worried about it happening again but if you are both excited they should have taken their cue from you. I think you are right to be upset, I would be too. You are bound to be nervous about this pregnancy given your past experience so what you need from those you love is positivity and support not negative thoughts, those they should keep to themselves. Try not to let them bring you down and try to be positive. You may have lost two but you have also had a healthy child so there's no reason this little bean won't be a strong and sticky one :)

(hope that all makes sense as I'm typing on my phone and can't read back properly)

 welcome and congratulations Kay, we have the same EDD! :)

I'm 10 weeks today! :j Scan is two weeks tomorrow and I'm getting more and more impatient! ;)

We stopped at some friends' house last night celebrating their engagement so of course I'm wide awake early as I don't sleep well anywhere other than my bed (not that I'm sleeping fabulously there either at the moment ;)). I forgot to bring food so I'm probably going to end up feeling sick.

    Hope everyone is well.

  • Morning girls.

    Hope you are all ok.

Does anybody actually feel pregnant? I am 11 weeks today and feel normal if that makes sense. I don't remember anything about when i was pregnant with my DS to compare too although i know all pregnancies are different. Can anybody still lie on their tummy as normal? I can kind of put only if i put my leg up at right angle to take some of the weight and pressure off my tummy.

My tiredness seems to be easing a bit and i can eat a lot more. I went off chocolate but last night i ate loads......

Have a good day everyone, we are taking DS to the circus this afternoon and church this morning. Off to crack on with the ironing which i still haven't touched since beiing back from my hols last friday!!!

When I'm feeling sick and tired I feel pregnant but when I don't have any symptoms I don't. I think it's pretty normal at this stage.

Hey. Sorry your PIL weren't more obviously happy for you. My PIL were pretty similar though- we see them most weekends, and i was so ill so early that it would have been obvious something was up, and so we had to tell them pretty early on at 5 weeks. They said the right sort of things, "congratulations, how wonderful", but there wasnt much emotion behind it, and then they stopped discussing it straight away. I was a bit upset and underwhelmed by their reaction. Actually as time went on, especially once we got past 16 weeks ish, they perked up about it ALOT, offered to buy us an expensive pushchair, cot or something else we wanted. I get the feeling now looking back, that they didnt want to get all enthusiastic too soon in case it didnt work out- both for their sakes not to be disappointed and to protect us from feeling we had let them down by "not producing".

Maybe your PIL are doing the same, esp with the previous M/c?

Chin up, and be positive in yourself. Its catching!:D

Im 11+2 and really since Friday Ive felt different not sure if its pregnant or just hormones, really just feel like Ive got a bit more excited and soooo irritable
Booking in tomorrow and im dreading it :( spoke to her on the phone and she was horrible, but met another one at the early antenatal i went to and she was lovely? Any one know the etiquette on changing midwives??
only 11 more days til scan date :)
Love is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,
Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy,And sometimes life can be deceiving,
I'll tell you one thing, its always better when we're together

When I went to my booking in appointment the midwife told me that there are a group of about three of them that I will probably see so maybe it'll be the same for you and you won't have to see the horrible one too often. I don't know if you can change or not see a certain one as they tend to have set areas and surgeries that they cover ..... I think. It might be worth asking on the main pregnancy thread to see if anyone with a bit more experience of the process knows more?

Hopefully she was just having an off day when you spoke to her. Either way try not to let her spoil your excitement :)
