OH Emsbet. Poor you, up and down! Have you looked up the info for the local EPU or even given them a ring? Some will let you self refer if you have had a recent M/c, which bypasses the doc/midwife thing. Or see what they need to let you go down. If its a referral from your GP or midwife, then you can chase them up. Usually EPU's will gvie appointments within a few days, rather than waiting in the normal scan queue.

When I went to the doctors yesterday she said that the midwife would contact me to make the appointment for a scan next week. This is different to last time when she phoned up for me when I was in with her so I don't really know what to do. I don't think they let you self refer as last time we had to wait for the doctors to fax over a letter before they would scan me.
I think I might see how I go for the rest of the day and hope that she calls me today

Try not to worry. As long as it's not fresh bright red, then that's good x

Thanks. It's not it's like a light brown colour. I have been to the toilet twice since and not seen anymore.

I'm trying not to worry as I don't have any pain but then I didn't hav a huge amount last time just one big stabbing pain that lasted about 10 mins. I know a lot of women have a similar discharge and go on to have healthy babies, I just hope this is me.

Sorry to go on, again but my head is such a mess

£5 a pic at the scan? My hospital print them out for free!!

There are £2.50 each at Stoke Mandeville but you can only buy £5 tokens and only 2 of those - limiting you to 4 pictures.

Perhaps not money saving but I'm going to get all the pictures of Elvis I can :D can't wait to go public and show them off!

Hi emsbet, sorry to hear what is going on. I had the same thing about the 5-6 week mark, I phoned (well actually my mum phoned as I couldn't talk) the EPU and they booked me in the next day. I got a scan and everything was ok. I'm now about 9 weeks and it happened again yesterday in work, it stopped really quickly so I haven't phoned again yet but if I were you I'd phone the EPU. I just phoned the maternity unit at my hospital and they put me through to the right department.

    Hi sugargurlie,

Thanks for the reassurance. It was only a small stain and (touch wood) it has stopped. I had another "blob" of brown discharge on Saturday which was a lot darker. The doctor has already referred me to the EPU and they should be getting in contact with me to have a scan next week. I am not 6 weeks until friday so I guess there would be no point going before then so I think I will wait it out until I have an appointment and if it comes back or I haven't heard anything in the next day or so I will call.

    xx

Aw Emsbet, try not to worry. Keep reminding yourself that this pregnancy "feels" different from the last and do try to relax. Too much stress won't be good for your little bean (who I'm sure is absolutely fine) :)

I'm glad it seems to have stopped. I just had another pinky discharge and am also sitting in work scared about what it means. Could be nothing, could be something, but all I can do it wait and see. I'm counting the minutes until I can go home and rest. Fingers crossed for us both! xx
